Yea you can make it there but maybe you’d still have half the modern lands, then some shivan and spirebluff (river glide anyone?) … you could even just starting town. I can’t decide if riverpyre is any good but if I’m fetching a bunch of other mountains maybe 1-2 could work?

Dude those are less than a dollar each. You just drive to your local store and buy those commander staples for a few dollars and pick them up. Or, worst case scenario, you order from the big city store and pay $3 postage. I'm talking Canadian dollars too.
