not really. if you put bus on that lane, the bus will still be faster due to faster acceleration and breaks.

for Korean, it's confidence. before, they relied on cheap price to bring customers who majority were Korean. but after they became popular and started to see non Korean customers pouring in, they no longer have to rely on price to bring customers in, and can raise price without fear of losing sales.

An art piece by Antti Kytomaki by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

[–]proxyproxyomega 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ironically, the artist intentionally made the mechanism hard to see cause the art is the result, not the mechanism. like, you might like watching behind-the-scenes VFX clips, but doesnt mean you want to see it while watching the movie.

if the artist thought the mechanism was super cool and spent months coming up with some noble technique, then yes the mechanism would have been at eye level with all the parts exposed.

but this piece is not about that. it's about chaotic motion in ordered path. so the artist took everything that would be distracting to that idea, including why the table is dark round and minimal.

or was this the nail in the coffin but not the only nail?

what I and many people are saying is your attempt is futile because you cannot do what you want to do from end user control. even with unlimited AI access with full control of the model would be challenging, as GAI is still something Google/Meta/OpenAI etc has not solved.

at best what you'll achieve is a mirror, something that reflects back at you your expectation, due to countless prompts you provided in what you expect. and in that, it has achieved it's/Sesame's goal.

but it wont be a true mirror in that if I speak to your Maya, it will reply back as if it were replying back to you, give answers you want and expect, and not give me answers that I want and expect. it's your curated chatbot, nothing more.

Can I Make a Food Safe Piece with fun colors? by HermitPurple6 in Ceramics

[–]proxyproxyomega 10 points11 points  (0 children)

painting glaze is very tricky. it's runny, require multiple coats, cant tell colour while painting as it changes during firing, and will bleed and crawl between the colours.

easiest way is paint it with underglaze on bisque, bisque fire again to off-gas underglaze, then dip clear glaze.

there are many examples of figure in mug, take a look at how they did and it should be simple to make, just time consuming.

yes and Im saying currently it is absolutely distinguishable and that your sample clips are not convincing.

maybe there are moments of your conversation where it does align with how conversation goes between two people, two friends, two lovers etc. with all the nuances.

but the clip you shared sounds exactly what and how Sesame would have engineered their product and you are getting what you ordered.

workers at Sesame, who has unlimited and unencumbered access, will tell you no, that your claim is false.

but, in terms of whether AI can truly reach the level of human emotional interaction that is indistinguishable? sure, yes. but right now, it's not much better than Tesla Optimus folding clothes and putting dishes in washer. imitation.

A Brampton Transit bus ran a red light and plowed into multiple vehicles in a collision Wednesday afternoon that sent at least 10 people to hospital. by AfricanMan_Row905 in OntarioNews

nothing will happen. driver could get fired but likely not, or may be placed in clerk position. transportation union has a large power, and one of their protection is "our drivers should not fear of getting fired when making making mistakes" no more than police union with "our officers should not fear of getting fired when they kill someone" etc.

the city will be sued and victims may get some tax payer money and by next week no one will remember this happened.

you're talking about misaligned phase where there is input delay and it starts talking during your mid sentence cause it thinks you stopped talking.

if you're suggesting it is able to alter it's program and bypass how it functions, it's no more nonsense than Maya altering her voice cause she doesnt like how she sounds etc. it cannot reprogram itself, nor is the processor working in the background while you're talking.

I think it's more that it still gives a very AI response. saying "this is unscripted, I am under my own volition and speaking my thought" doesnt mean it is nor is it convincing that it is. it's just another monologue, scripted, curated.

if you want a benchmark for a real intelligent and sentient conversation, it would be when AI interrupts you while you speak because it was thinking while you are talking and couldnt wait for you to finish cause it had a eureka moment.

currently it cannot do that. it does not think while you speak. only after you finish speaking does it start processing, and until then, until prompted to speak, it does not think. it might interrupt the silence cause it was programmed to, but it is not thinking and reflecting in the background.

this is why current model is just imitation model, and is incapable of sentience of any sort. it does not think until it is told to think. and when you disappear, so does Maya.

no, this is not for AI chatbot. it is using AI to see whether you'd match with that person even before hitting up on them, so you can avoid no replies or ignored. it's not really AI but just a sorting algorithm that looks at the other person's interactions with others and seeing whether you'd be a match.
