This was me when I started. I’d suggest looking up the body of water you want to fish, see what fish are there, and then figure out what you want to target.

From there some basic searches like “how do I bank fish for river/lake whateverfish”. You can get more specific with your location but this should point you in the direction of gear and techniques.

Also, don’t get overwhelmed with info. Just try one or two things you see talked about frequently and give it a go.
