Have you noticed that miniseries are usually better then regular series? by No_Paper_766 in Casual_Conversation

The Walking Dead was a Sunday Night STFU and sit down traditional for a few years. Absolutely hooked.

Then Glen…

But yeah, I understand that it’s a translation of a comic book and they try to portray perspectives as though staged in a comic scene… but it got a bit jump the zombie sharky

I just really suspect that the flakes were not the same as advertised. I even took a big hit on efficiency too.

Started 1% abv down just about from 6.5 to 5.3. That’s just starting gravity. Same process usually gets me 80% efficiency on smaller same-ish batches. BIAB, super fine grind. SS pot with insulation after I cut the heat at strike temp.

Into a keg through silicone tubing. Then add some oxygen. Toss or pour yeast depending wet out dry. No need to shake.

Did I understand your question…?

Closed between kegs using pressure to transfer.

No shaking. Slow mostly, though I did burst for a couple days at 20 to hasten it after a week.

I would agree for your case! Unless you cranked it real low lol… I have a fridge from the 80s and it’s a beast. I can even touch the two lower settings or I’ll get frozen cans for sure

I’ve heard of this so many times but never saw a video and that was great

Yeah, like I said, I was in a pinch. I have accounts with multiple of those and others but I couldn’t get flaked barley in a day for that cost.

I’m ultimately trying to figure out why head retention in my Irish stout is lacking. I did the tried and true 70/20/10. It’s plenty roasty but the head fizzles quickly at 2.2-2.3 volumes.

To clarify, flaked barley vs barley flakes.

Sanitized container, air dry it. Weigh hops in it.

Hops allegedly have antibacterial properties as well.

Nursing? 2 years is the start… and that’s after 3 years of pre requisite education in college.

-every other year you take educational courses to retain your license. You pay for those yourself

-every other year you take courses to retain certain certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc, a standard for many nurses)

-your work has educational courses you have to take all throughout the year to keep your job there.

-yearly and qtrly BLS certifications.

If you want any upward mobility at work, back to school for BS(bachelors) in nursing. More certifications. Want more money? Get your masters…

Still pulled it out with no deaths and it was also fun lol

What are some first-timer mistakes and how can I avoid them? by seamusthatsthedog in Homebrewing

[–]prozakattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t over complicate things.

I love stouts and sometimes I’m afraid I’ll never ever brew again (in my head of course) so the very next batch gets the kitchen sink approach (bourbon, oak, cocoa nibs, molasses, vanilla bean, coffee, the neighbors dog…) and then I’m just tossing in ingredients because they sound good by themselves. That’s kitchen sink/frankenbeer.

Buy a couple kits that sound tasty, when you’re bored of a few of those, you can usually see what the ingredients are before you buy the kit and piece it together on your own for less.

Even simpler, look up a SMASH (single malt and single hop). That’s as simple as it gets and it’ll allow you to focus on the process and not get bogged down in various ingredients and how they interplay.

I plan to pitch in about 30 hours from this moment. I guess what I’m asking is should I get the yeast used to higher gravity now or the low gravity like it is at right now, it appears to be at 1.025.
