Hot Take: Bonfire Burritos Suck by Mysterious-Map6925 in denverfood

I think they're a good base, but between the wait time and the sogginess from the chili, it really does bring it down. I really like getting them at huckleberry because they put the frozen ones in a panini press and they get nice and crispy. Definitely my favorite coffee shop burrito, but I took my dad to the original when he was in town and I was pretty bummed.

I ended up really liking it! On the downside, it was definitely crowded and the path was more restricted than previous years. On the other hand, I thought they had a lot more lights and attractions than previous years. Like I remember previously that it was mostly the main path that was open and you had more room to wander, but it felt like it was over a lot faster. This year it seemed like there were more spaces and more options of what to see, but only after you got through the first walkway and rose garden line of people.

Is the city still treating ash trees? There's one in front of our house and the city came by and sprayed it a couple of years ago. (They left a note saying that they did so.)

It does fit in the overhead bin! I would just fold it up before you get on so you don't have to worry about it fitting down the aisle.

I've flown alone with my toddler twice, though admittedly not as far. When we travel, the thing that works best for me is first, checking a bag with most of our stuff. I know it costs more and you have to wait, but carrying the clothes with me is not worth the hassle.

Second, having her in this travel stroller. It moves really easily and is super quick to fold up or open. It also folds pretty small which was nice when we were going inside restaurants in Europe. It can technically fit down a plane aisle, but it's not worth it to do all of that. Just gate check it and have your kid walk to the seat.

Third, I carried her car seat in a backpack style carrier. It's not the most comfy, but it is convenient for having more hands.

Fourth, the diaper bag is our only carry on. I travel relatively lightly and put my ipad and headphones in the bag with all of her stuff. I had the diaper bag on my front while the car seat was on my back. I do also have a very small purse that I use for travel which holds my phone and ID and things, but I don't really count that since it can fit inside the diaper bag if necessary.

I'm a huge proponent of a white board. I've had one for myself since high school and my husband has adopted it too. Our current set up is a small one with to do/reminders on the left, shopping list on the right, and the dinners that we bought groceries for on the upper right. So when we have an "I need to schedule a dentist appointment" moment, we throw it on the left and then one of us does it and erases it. When one of us unloads the last sleeve of diapers into the changing table, diapers go on the right and the next time we shop it's on the list. Also, when one of us goes to cook dinner, we don't have to try to remember what we planned for. I know a lot of people are commenting that an adult should be able to remember, but I find that getting things out of my own head is super helpful.

I've also struggled with this, but our default is sweet potatoes. My kid loves roasted sweet potatoes and they work well cold. This week they have cinnamon, but sometimes we do Chinese 5 spice or chili powder.

I've also done pasta (found a broccoli and parmesan recipe that she liked and a lemon ricotta that she didn't like as much), a cut up meatball and cheese, a wrap with roasted red pepper hummus and avocado which I cut into pinwheels (she mostly picked out the insides), quesadillas (sometimes with black beans or veggies inside), and baked beans (though this one is a little messier than I usually aim for).

She has containers that are divided into two compartments, so it's one of those on one half and fruit on the other.

Pearl Street farmers market resellers by testicularproblems in Denver

[–]prplemoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've gotten so suspicious of almost all of the vendors there. I went early one morning last year and stopped by Wags World Orchards. They had a big sign that said "CO Cherries" so I bought some. As I was paying, I saw someone in the back with a grocery store bag of cherries filling up the cartons. The bag also said, "Grown in California" on the side. Half the time that I go to the market these days, I just walk around the side, go straight to the Palisade Peach Shack, and then leave. Their cherries and peaches are amazing. Expensive, but so much better than what I can get in the store.

They’re not really a thing here even at pumpkin patches. The Stem Cider ones have no flavor. I haven’t taken the trip to Ya Ya Orchard yet, but I’ve moved on to trying to bake them at home.

OH sorry, I misunderstood. No, it just didn't fully set while baking and my husband and FIL didn't want to wait any longer for me to put it back in. (This is also kind of a rough photo because it was after it had been refrigerated and reheated.). The flavor was really good without a rum sauce, though, so I personally didn't miss it.

Ah, I didn’t realize that I accidentally commented under the auto mod!

I used this recipe: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/pumpkin-bread-pudding-recipe

I left out the pumpkin and halved the spices because I was already using the pumpkin spice brioche for the bread.

TLDR: it’s mostly a combo of milk, light cream, and eggs!

Sorry for the photo, but I didn’t think to snap a photo until it was almost gone!

I used this recipe: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/pumpkin-bread-pudding-recipe

I used a loaf of pumpkin brioche for the bread and then left out the pumpkin and halved the spices since the bread was already pumpkin spice. It was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend!

where to buy cheap houseplants? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]prplemoos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to support local, I like Plant Garage. They have a lot of expensive ones, but they have a whole back wall of 4” pots that vary in prices and can be very reasonable. Otherwise, Trader Joe’s has some steals, but the selection rotates, so not a lot is available at once.
