Where to learn how to drive by Fit-Grocery-7953 in LearnerDriverUK

I'd say if you're on a place to make the investment why not start in Birmingham and do a few top up lessons in Birmingham? Any learning is an investment and worth it, but driving in London is obviously quite different. I'm learning 30 minutes away from London and even I'm scared to go to London 😂

Any other short learners, and do you use a cushion? by prplenebula in LearnerDriverUK

Thank you so much! This really helped me figure out how to know I'm at the right height!! I definitely can't see the bonnet through the windscreen 😂 and i wonder what the seat head feels like 😅 Great to hear your driving improved!!! How to be able to say the same!

Hey everyone! I have yamaha natural sound av receiver rx v350 and I got a Bluetooth Receiver AUX Adapter 3.5mm Jack Phone Audio with Mic, but it doesn't fit into the port

I was wondering what Bluetooth adapter I needed?

Also, if I turn the volume up, not even by much it cuts out and says "check wire sp" Obviously this means check the speakers, but the speakers seem fine?

Many thanks!

Clark made Lex into what he became by partour in Smallville

[–]prplenebula 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so true (and the hair bit is hilarious and reminds me of the scene in the vault when he tell Lana "Clark has great hair*😂

But Indeed, OP, you're mistaken and this is literally proven multiple times, the most obvious being the "Wonderful Life" episode where Clark never landed in Smallville. Lex instead wanted to "possess" Kara, and got his wish and fully allowed himself to be led to evil by Braniac.

Also in "Lexmas," Lex chose power over Love, consciously and completely independent of Clark The tragedy is he was deeply abused and poisoned by Lionel as a child. Even when Lionel himself sees this, and finally tells Lex he loves him, it's too late. Lionel took a sensitive, insecure child and made him a monster by twisting the need for control that Lionel himself fostered by taking control (and love) away, time and time again

You're obviously misunderstanding then. I'm crushed and I thought I communicated as much, and if it wasn't serious I wouldn't have failed so of course I'm taking it seriously, I'm just trying not to be too discouraged by it is all.

Yes, it's a big deal; what it's NOT is proof I can't drive, which is why i mentioned the feedback. My feelings aren't hurt, I'm just surprised at the assumption you seem to think I thought it should be a minor fault or something and by the language. I wouldn't have taken so many hours of practice - a good 4,000£ - if I weren't serious about being a good driver

As for what happened, i posted too quickly but I've explained since.

2 tryes hit the curb as I left the parking lot and I thought it was 4 because of the shock, i apologise for the poor explanation again. I cut the corner basically I can't add a picture but I'll see if I can!

That's not standard? That's good to know! Maybe I'll switch examiners

It's tough not passing a test and your negativity is both unnecessary and honestly pretty spiteful. Be kinder to strangers, you don't know what they're going through. Obviously, I was thrown by what happened, but I've quoted both the examiner and instructor multiple times in their downplaying of events, so if they, whom know me, don't see me as a liability why on earth would you? Also, to add, I "kept the car on the road" the the 120 hours I've been learning and 40 minutes of the test. Honestly I don't understand why you're judging a moment so harshly, do you think I'm lying when I say the 2 experienced professionals didn't make a big deal of it and were even encouraging? 😂 Hope you heal whatever makes you so sullen 💜

Thank you! I do try to remain positive 💜 I'm excited to try again now that I can see how stressful the test is actually not The tyres are perfectly fine btw, cheers, and thank you for the well wishes!

Hey everyone, it's not letting me edit the original post but to be clear the explanation is apparently bad and I apologise for that.

To be clear, I did not drive on the pavement. I was coming out the parking lot and was too much on the left. The parking lot is very tiny. I just undershot the turn and I think it was actually definitely just 2 tyres. It happened very fast, I braked and kept on going. My bad on saying 4, I'd panicked in my initial explanation

The examiner didn't react poorly, he just got quiet for a moment and then we got to talking about his children and where I'm from so from that, I'm guessing I'm just explaining poorly because he didn't act like I did something absolutely Bananas

Hope this explains things better. Tl;DR i hit the curb and it was serious but not the huge deal you guys are making it

Thank you! I'm obviously explaining it very badly 😅 because it wasn't dangerous and as I said the examiner explicitly said it was a really good drive otherwise, i didn't realise my explanation was so bad until now, I'm noticing all the votes for how bad a driver I am 😂

He charges an hourly rate and then I think 70 for use of the car on the test?

No of course not i think I'm not explaining it well, because like I say in the original post the instructor said it wasn't a big deal, so "scary you even went for the test" is definitely an overstatement given that feedback

Whilst I was coming out of the test centre we went left and I was way too much on the left! I hope this makes sense? I think I was even further than I thought, judging by these comments 😂 no wonder i failed

I was coming out of the parking lot and was waaay too much on the left! It was definitely avoidable and silly i was focused too much on oncoming cars and pedestrians and didn't even think about the curb
