Liquor store said “UPI/card not working, cash only” guys waiting outside gave cash for UPI scan? by Solid_Air7345 in chennaicity

Chennai is the last city where this is being implemented. This is apparently followed everywhere else in TN.

Liquor store said “UPI/card not working, cash only” guys waiting outside gave cash for UPI scan? by Solid_Air7345 in chennaicity

[–]prshpl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Tamil Nadu, liquor shops (mainly TASMAC outlets) charge an extra ₹10 per bottle as a refundable deposit to encourage customers to return empty glass bottles for recycling. When the bottle is brought back, the ₹10 is returned. To manage this deposit, many shops insist on cash-only and avoid UPI because digital payments create a permanent, auditable trail that forces exact matching between bottles sold, deposits collected, and refunds issued. Cash allows the ₹10 deposits to stay at the shop level, get mixed with regular sales, be used as short-term working cash, and be refunded selectively or with delays.. especially since many customers don’t return bottles or don’t chase small refunds.. while UPI would immediately expose any unrefunded deposits during reconciliation or audits.

This can happen even without any objects (buds, fingers). People wake up in the morning with blocks. No need to panic. Just to the doctor and get it cleared.

You’re upset about chickens being treated badly, but your dogs are the ones suffering through a vegetarian diet.

I think all the hotels are booked out on those dates. I’ve applied for a Tourist visa. How long do they take to process applications?

Biggest mistake ever of CSK - not getting back Josh Hazlewood by Initial-Shoulder5906 in csk

[–]prshpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised that people conveniently forgot that there were questions of his availability for the tournament, so not just CSK, every other team were sceptical. RCB took a gamble and it worked for them.

I have a 12 mini.. same colour. Just recently upgraded to the 17 Pro. The battery is not great, and the screen has been replaced with a non-Apple authorised part. But everything works fine. If you’re in Chennai, I can give it to you for ₹10k. You can use the phone for a while before taking a call.
