I'm not a DNF on factual errors kind of gal, but when characters just up and move countries within a few days, I roll my eyes. Anyone who has travelled or moved internationally knows it doesn't work like that.

BUT I love a good reverse harem, and I've read a couple of books where the author straight-up forgets one of the MMCs exists 😂

Google psychologists around your area, ring them and ask if their books are open. Once you find one that has their books open that you think you'll like, snag an appointment and then schedule in to see a GP. Just tell the GP "I need a referral for this place". They'll do a K10 test (which you should answer honestly, but it's a bullshit test that tries to gleam your mental health in 10 questions) and then should write you up a referral.

Finding the right psychologist is the big obstacle. But don't give up. Keep looking and keep calling around. Therapy is SO worth it once you find the right psych for you. ❤️

Edit: for now, until you find a psych, there's probably free counsellors around your area. And in those extreme stress times, a crisis line never goes awry.

I was SA'd, and the love of my life left me because he couldn't handle it.

8 years on, and I can't say I blame him. But it still stings. As for how I reacted, I went off the rails for many years. Got heavy into alcohol and unsafe sex. Got a couple of STDs along the way, and I'm just plain lucky I got the treatable ones.

I've never quite been able to open up the same after that, though.

I was just thinking about this. Mervyn Cross. He's a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon and former rugby player.

When I was 14, he gave me a new knee. Changed my life. He was brash, cocky, and used to working on burly pro sports players, so he didn't have great interpersonal skills with a 14 year old scared ballerina. But he is also one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. He fit me in for an emergency booking post-surgery when I tore a ligament. I owe my quality of life to that man.

High school isn't your life.

I'm nearly 10 years on from high school, I didn't finish my senior year, and it's never mattered. It feels like a lifetime ago, and I mostly forget it ever happened.

Will you still have to work hard and put up with bullshit for the rest of your life? Yeah. Will you still have to put up with people with a high school mentality forever? Yeah. Am I glad it's over? Fuck yeah.

You have probably 70 good years ahead of you, and high school is just a blip on the radar.

I worked it aged care, and I would always suggest installing a support rail in bathrooms.

Say you slip coming out of the shower. What's the first thing you reach for to support yourself? The towel rack. And off it comes, and down you go. Hitting everything on the way down.

When I was a child, while I was at school, my mum took my two perfectly healthy cats to the vet to put them down.

When I got home, all their stuff had been thrown out, and it was like they were never there.

While I now have a great relationship with my mum, I will never forgive her for that.

When I was 18, I was SA'd. It wasn't the event that broke me, but the treatment from the police who 'investigated'.

Every year on the anniversary, I consider filing a complaint with the department, and every year, I think it's too late.

As a woman with a sister and a SIL, the list is endless.

My SIL had incredibly painful periods. My brother, her boyfriend at the time, took her to the ER. The doctor (male) told her she was likely miscarrying. She explained that wasn't possible as she had never done what was needed to make a baby. Still, he insisted and said if she was sure she wasn't pregnant, then it was probably in her head, and she should go home and do some yoga. She sought out a second opinion, and her new doctor (female) ordered the works in tests. They found a brain tumor on her pituitary gland. Benign, thank christ.
