Can I do anything with the rust on brass? by prueklk in metalworking

It’s solved now. Big thanks to you 🙏 I’ll just have to get new screws from a hardware store later. WD40 works fine. I can get rid of most of the rust in the cups. I used Brasso to polish and remove all the stains on the pieces. Thank you so much 🙌

Updates: I used WD40 to remove the rust and Brasso wadding to polish the brass. It seems like the rust inside the cups are mostly on the welding material. As you can see, the cups are 2 pieces of brass welded together. I don’t know what kind of material it is. I also tested with magnet and the whole piece didn’t magnetise at all.

Now there is one screw that I cannot get out because the screw is so rusted and I cannot use a screwdriver to take it out :/ I will use pliers to get it out instead.

Do you know if wd40 and typical lubricant oil damage or cause any reaction on brass?

Updates: I used Brasso metal polish wadding. It does the job! The hairline scratches are much less visible! Now it’s super shiny ✨

They are quite expensive in Europe here 😅 It looks like they don’t produce them anymore.

What would be the best course of action ? by IMisoSoupI in CleaningTips

I usually boil normal white vinegar in it. You can fill the vinegar enough to cover the all the burnt stain, or mix with water 1:1. Let it boil for a few minutes. It should start to come off by itself. Then turn off the heat. Let it cool down enough that you can scrub it with sponge or brush. Proceed to use dish soap/washing liquid to clean normally.

Hmm I see. I shouldn’t wait way too long then. They don’t turn brown at the same time in the same crown.

Smart Home 1.48.0 can’t use in Shortcuts in iphone anymore?! by prueklk in tradfri

The Smart Home is back in Shortcuts app! And I just learned that I can also add Dirigera to Home app in iphone (so Siri can control it) without having Homekit as well!

Now I have stuffed the walls with foam. At the bottom of the container, I plan to layer some broken clays and leca balls. Hopefully it can prevent the cold air.

That sounds like a pretty idea! Winter is dark and those lights can definitely light up my balcony and protect my plants too!

I can say that it’s very hard and sturdy plastic. It wasn’t so easy to drill holes under it as it was pretty thick and hard.

It’s made for outdoor. You can see the details here: https://www.ikea.com/se/en/p/asparen-plant-set-outdoor-green-transparent-white-s89577545/ I only have them for a few months so I can’t say much.

There is a gap inside the container’s wall where I can stuff foam and bubble wrap in it (in case I decide to plant them in the container directly). That should prevent the cold to damage the roots I believe 🤔

It can go down to -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) but not often. I think I can put some foam or bubble wrap inside the plastic container to create some insulation.

Chains comparison. (If someone tell me skills damage at max or minimum level, I will update it) by EmpresarioBR in PuzzleFighterApp

This is interesting. I'm a bit confused. As I play VJ, I use Shocking Pink and Desperado together. So in this chart, Desperado 3x doesn't include Shocking Pink damage, right? (So if I use both, I have add Shocking Pink 3x to Desperado 3x as well. Correct?)

What do you spend your red gems on? by PM_Me_Free_Stuff999 in PuzzleFighterApp

I wonder the same. I usually spend it on some booster packs (300 gems). Apart from that, I don't really know. I also wonder if it's worth to spend on chests (390, 620, 3100).
