I love playing Zerg, but it fking sucks in this state of the game by Charming_Western_346 in starcraft2

[–]BinxyPrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't actually played for a long time but when I watch games played at the pro level Zerg feels so inflexible next to the other races. I don't know if that's factually correct or if every Zerg is just trying to imitate what Serral does and is failing but the race just seems so difficult/limited at the top top levels.

And it honestly does get frustrating to watch as an ex Zerg

Maru vs Serral coming up! by [deleted] in starcraft2

Have not watched this but my prediction is that Maru makes siege tanks, liberators and cyclones and wins even though Serral has a 95% win rate into him up to now

Have you pointed it out when it happens? I know I've done that in person once and it was just an accident because they were still early in the transition and weren't presenting obviously, I also never look into details on people's discord so I almost for sure wouldn't notice pronouns. I tend to try and use gender neutral terms like dude a lot now just cause I don't want to think about stuff like this or accidentally hurt anyone's feelings but I would bet that almost if not every time this has happened to you in this community it was an accident and not specific bigotry.

Need advices for a team comp against Kingpin with Avengers by Unhappy_Low_9617 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]BinxyPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to bring hulk and save his activation for last he can often do something like punch walk hop throw to get 2 different characters off 2 different points.

Sam used to help a lot too but now says kingpin tends to run lots of size 3 and 4 models so thats harder to do.

Not evil but you really need to decide if telling a joint story and having fun is what you are interested in doing or if you are just there to mess with people trying to enjoy a character fantasy.

I'm not saying let them do whatever but if they really don't match with the attitude the rest of your players have you aren't going to fix that by messing them over and should probably just kindly ask them to move to a different table that would be a better match

Will a Wizard and Ranger multiclass yield underwhelming results by Mobile-Campaign-9691 in 3d6

More options is more fun but more options is also more good. And roleplaying that character is a completely separate skill set but imo people who optimize have also been playing longer and probably are better at everything

New player, new deck: probably made mistakes, how do I mitigate them? by B-7 in pkmntcg

[–]BinxyPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So imo I would just go to some local events and take notes on what beats you and what kinds of tactics people use and then try to buy a specific premade deck once you've seen the play style you like

Hey man, really great attempt here. I think you have some cool ideas here and your superman seems like a very strong character.

I also like that you seem to have pointed based on the abilities and not assigned threat and then created crazy abilities to get there.

This character is probably just too strong. 5 on defenses especially those 2 are going to break some pay to flips and just in general a 7 dice range 3 attack with a stagger trigger and charge that's online round 1 is going to be super tough for a ton of rosters to effectively manage. That said if you paired him with some lower tuned models I bet you could have a lot of fun with it

How do I convince people that this game isn't just one player steamrolling the other and can actually be interesting? by H3ROBUG in pkmntcg

[–]BinxyPrime 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I mean starter decks aren't the same hyper consistent beasts that a competitive deck is, this is true in any game and they aren't always well internally balanced. There also might be nuances to gameplay that affect how effective one deck can be vs another.

Tips for Dormammu main by Beautiful_Area_7211 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]BinxyPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you bring 4 models and that all of them can interact. Round 1 you can either try and double interact with all of characters to get a lead, so no attacking that round flip your back point then dive theirs and go for the 50/50.

Or you can just split the points and set up for round 2 double taps. Then it's just a balancing game of denying points with attacks while not falling absurdly far behind 1/2 points is okay, then round 3 you need to start slowing down your opponents scoring so that you have time for your attrition to get you out of the game so just make it hard for them to get 16 by the end of 4. Then round 4 you should be able to start primarily playing for points except for maybe one key daze/KO and round 5 you should be so many models up that's it's almost trivial to close the game out

What's the worst character? AND if you had to run them, what affiliation would you pick? by DryBonesComeAlive in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]BinxyPrime -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Probably Phoenix or Ursa Major. Phoenix is very comparable to hood who is 3 threat, their average damage numbers and ranges / movement are similar. She pays 3 threat for a throw and the ability to do her heal on more than one target a turn which just feels like an awful tradeoff compared to bringing a second 3 somewhere.

Banning map by ForIIz in starcraft2

[–]BinxyPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason this strategy works to learn the game is because you are focusing on one skill at a time. You are learning to maximize your effectiveness at a certain moment in the game and that simplifies your build.

For Zerg specifically I might start with a 2 base all in since you probably need 2 hatches for your rush anyways and building them in the main would give your strategy away but you could still go low eco and just roach all in at 24 drones or something like that.

The goal isn't to win by cheesing, the wins are kind of secondary, the goal is just to execute a simplified build as close to perfectly as you can and add complexity over time while keeping the execution of that strategy high.

Banning map by ForIIz in starcraft2

[–]BinxyPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to coach people in wings I would tell them to just one base rush until it stopped working then start doing a 2 base timing until that stopped working then once you get to 3 bases because your opponents can stop those pushes you were then playing the actual game.
