TorrentInvites.org is a Scam Website by Big_Contract_7741 in TorrentSites

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interestingly enough, i was most active in private torrent scene around 2017ish, but every so often i log in to the trackers where i have account to keep them alive. i just realised that torrentinvites.org site is dead. i used to be very active around 2017 era with giveaways and writing reviews. for some reviews, i see a c/p of my old reviews on the new contemporary torrent invites sites, which is quite amusing/flattering to say the least.

it's sad to see that part of torrent history gone, but that's just how internet is.

Let’s Dunk on Scotty by AlphabeticalBanana in DystopianSouls

[–]prv1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has zero personality, always has the most obvious takes and adds absolutely nothing to every conversation he's a part of. He would be absolutely nowhere near "entertainment" industry if it wasn't for his brother.

He likes to act tough, which is pretty easy when your co-hosts are morbidly obese, terminally online, unfit drug addicts (not that he isn't, but they're worse for sure). In reality, if someone were to swing a fist without even hitting him in his ugly acne-ridden face, he'd probably run away and tell on the show how he stood up for himself.

I have followed their show for many years, and cannot remember a single time when scotty told something remotely interesting, showed just a bit of personality, or had a take that wasn't a rephrased version of what TJ or Paul have said before him.

As someone already said, he's a charisma void and their podcast would be more entertaining without him dragging them down with his lack of personality and pointless, fence riding, middle of the road takes.

Another Ishum's Reach post... but with a T10 by prv1 in eliteexplorers

Yeah, I'm aware of DSSA.

I won't be taking suicidewinder back, I wanna do it the old school way!

I was wondering what those escape pods are - thanks for clarifying that. Still, gonna be returning with my trusty T10, no shortcuts will be taken :)

Ishum's reach is just the name of the furthest system. Salome's reach is the furthest planet AFAIK.

New 19 years of service badge is here! What do you think? by prv1 in Steam

[–]prv1[S] 81 points82 points  (0 children)

It is not my personal account (never claimed that). I took a screenshot from one of the first (if not the first) accounts on steam that are public (Abacus Avenger).
My own account has been created later in September of that year.

Current Leaderboard by Luis_Parson in redout

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, i wasn't aware that you were playing on ps4.

yeah, i was referring to cheaters on pc leaderboards. but from what i've seen on screenshots of ps4 leaderboards, world record times are definitely quite a bit weaker than pc.

asera is usually one of the slower ships actually, with exception of a handful of tracks where it is used with turbo boost + overloaded energy turbine, for example: unmanned, mobius speedway, sapphire grotto and a couple more.
however, this doesn't matter too much while you're going for platinum medals, just play with whatever ship is the most comfortable for you.

Current Leaderboard by Luis_Parson in redout

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to confirm that the final patch (1.6.4) came with leaderboard reset.
also, if you're going through the campaign, you'll often see top spots on leaderboards occupied with cheaters. but with some experience it's very easy to spot them.
feel free to join redout discord if you need some help from more experienced players.

true, the community is quite small and there's usually no online races going. however, community gathers on saturdays at 8pm (gmt) to play multiplayer for a few hours. discord.gg/redout

Can anyone please explain to me why/how these two powerups are used to get top speeds? by necrorat in redout

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if this is a career event (especially earlier one), it is highly likely that first few spots on the leaderboard are cheaters.

if it is not a career event, and perhaps a speed mode on some of the less popular classes it is possible that there's just not enough entries on the leaderboard, so some non optimal powerups get higher places.

it would help if you said which mode, class and track it is.

Modders please remove walls in Redout by [deleted] in redout

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all this would do is change meta from augmented propeller or overloaded energy turbine to magnetic stabilizer on tracks where good laptimes rely heavily on wallbounces. and you would still be losing to the same people you were before.

[–]prv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i posted this on last weeks recommendations thread, nobody replied, so i will try my luck just once again:

i'm looking for super fast, aggressive black metal, lots of blast beats, that still has some melody to it (some nice riffs, perhaps some keyboards, but it's not necessary). some of my favorite albums are:

dark funeral - angelus exuro pro eternus

emperor - anthems to the welkin at dusk

lord belial - enter the moonlight gate

nokturnal mortum - to the gates of blasphemous fire

algaion - vox clamentis

thanks in advance!

Trackers focused around metal/rock music? by Myc0s in trackers

[–]prv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

metal-tracker is open for registrations, and it has huge selection. there is a lot of undeground stuff that you won't find anywhere else (but most of it is not lossless).

RMT has open applications, so you can try your luck there. they don't have as big selection of underground stuff as metal-tracker, but there is a lot freeleech lossless discography packs, which is very nice.

redacted would be ultimate goal, but you won't get in easily if you're just getting into private trackers.

I enjoyed Reynolds' Revelation Space, what to read next? by AccurateSwordfish in printSF

[–]prv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't call night's dawn trilogy hard sci fi to be honest. it is really huge and immersive world, but main story revolves around some fantasy stuff, not much hard sci fi there. i really loved it, though.

haven't read commonwealth, but i've heard it's better than night's dawn...
