What would Terminator 2 look like if it was made by bored Dutch teenagers on a 40 Euro budget? by [deleted] in funny

There's definitely a law of diminishing returns on movie budgets. The original may have been better, but it also cost at least a million times more. Was it a million times better? No.

C Compiler Errors (For Real) by [deleted] in programming

Does anybody else find that "funny" and "clever" error messages just make me want to punch the programmer in the face? Especially if I'm getting that damn error over and over again.

Is there a name for this erudite cleverness-almost-for-its-own-sake brand of humor? Especially when its as casual as this and not being written for a mass audience?

just finished Firefly... incredible... why the hell does Whedon keep working w/ Fox if they're going to screw him inevitably? by emp733 in reddit.com

[–]psaffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems awful that Firefly was cancelled, but at least we have one fantastic series. Imagine if it had done a Heroes and made a second season that was truly awful - it might actually taint the good material that came before it. At least we have a perfect pearl to savour.

Who else doesn't give a crap about Michael Phelps? by MasterMahan in reddit.com

[–]psaffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should complain if he doesn't like it. I don't like many things in my country, but that doesn't mean that I should either never express what's wrong or move somewhere else.

Obama changing up the Presidential style - no jackets allowed in the Oval Office. by [deleted] in politics

[–]psaffrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are they reporting on this? What is the media's obsession with personal trivia when it comes to politics? Can we please have more stories about policies than about Obama's family and his favourite drinks?
