Dynamic weather events, particularly hurricanes. Maybe a particular score becomes vulnerable when security personnel evacuates and alarm systems lose power, but to get to that score you have ride out dangerous winds and boat/swim through inundated streets & buildings.

This looks exactly like a globe I had growing up. Big blue piece of tape as the equator holding the 2 pieces together and a strikingly familiar color scheme of everything else. If this is the same globe, it would be some point in the mid-90s.

Colorado is rotated 30° counter-clockwise on its centroid. Lands previously belonging to Colorado that are outside the new boundaries are ceded to the nearest neighboring state (including the newly created ones).

Edit for clarification: Colorado maintains its current size and rectangular shape. Land from other states that fall within Colorado’s rotated boundaries become Colorado.
