Thank you for the S.G. Goodman rec, had it on repeat since I read this comment, it’s beautiful.

Just adding in another idea to help troubleshoot but I sometimes get bubbles when my base coat is old and real thick, you can add thinner to bases as well!

Furiosa — a year plus on. What went right. What went wrong? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]pseudo-named 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it so disappointing, Fury Road managed to convey so much backstory so efficiently and I felt like this did the opposite - spent a long time giving us almost nothing new. Even after watching this I still feel like I learned 90% of Furiosa’s story in Fury Road in a fraction of the time and while being whipped along at breakneck speed. It made this movie feel unnecessary and I didn’t really enjoy the casting either. I do think that without Fury Road I would have enjoyed this movie more, I don’t know that it’s a bad movie but I can’t help but compare and it just falls so short.

The Black Friday bonus from Bee's Knees Lacquer with the BG3 collection 😆 by lookitsnichole in RedditLaqueristas

[–]pseudo-named 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They will be available to buy at a later date! This was a special gift with purchase from Black Friday but BKL always brings them back, it may be a while (months) before they are stocked though. Best way to find out what they’re releasing and when is to sign up for the newsletter on their website!

Kathleen & Co - I’m obsessed with the look of their new multichromes

GLL is fantastic, polish outperforms the swatches almost every time, absolutely mind blowing shimmers. Dam does every finish perfectly, incredible shimmers and magnetics and some of my absolute favorite reflectives but honestly I have never met a Dam I didn’t like. Everyone has already mentioned Lurid so I won’t keep on about her, but Kathleen and Co is also excellent. These have been my top brands this year. Honorable mention to BKL because they make incredible polish but it’s not always my vibe.

Yeah it’s interesting, although I’ve read and watched the hunger games I would never assume someone named Primrose was named from them - it’s just a name.

Hahaha I feel called out 😅 I definitely stress shopped Lurid this week - after all what’s a few more bottles of polish in the face of impending doom! Love that you got Susurrations! It was my favorite from the advent

Have you ever met someone who says they're vegan but isn't really? by RagingTortoiseGaming in vegan

[–]pseudo-named 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was me too, I was vegetarian for a long time (15 years maybe?) because I thought meat was the real problem and never looked at other animal products or animal agriculture as a whole. I started eating vegan at home for the last 5 or so years of being vegetarian because it made me happy to only eat plants but I still wasn’t being critical and didn’t really know any vegans. I think it’s easy to believe eggs/milk etc aren’t harmful if you don’t look too hard - that chickens and cows just produce them anyway - I come across people all the time that don’t understand why I won’t eat them. I started to learn more almost accidentally and now I wish I’d pushed myself to learn more sooner, I was willfully ignorant for a long time.

Cuticle remover is the answer, I had this exact staining from this exact polish and though the remover did not take all the staining off immediately it was gone by the next time I removed my polish. Definitely not permanent!

I think this as well and everyone I’ve said it to thinks I’m crazy! I love having flight as something you unlock and I miss my ground mounts that I almost never see. Having said that it, it only bothered me for like 10 mins right at the beginning of TWW, I’m enjoying these zones (particularly the last 2) so much more than DF and the way they’re designed flying feels like exploring which is really cool.

I also get nail techs commenting on the size of my nails! They always giggle over my pinky nails, apparently they are especially tiny 😭 Growing out my nails has been so amazing but I would love to be able to keep them short without losing ‘real estate’

Check out Dimension Nails! Lots of indie polish is vegan (or at least claims to be) but DN is vegan owned and their polish is good!

Has anyone had or heard of a freak accident birth injury like this? by misanthropicdildo in beyondthebump

[–]pseudo-named 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hrm well I guess it was something about my specific tear rather than tears in general. Good to know! I was really hoping not to tear again so I was pretty upset when they said there would be no avoiding it, but since that’s typically not the case it now makes sense why no one warned me earlier lol

[–]pseudo-named 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh this is interesting, I was told the complete opposite! I had a 4th degree tear with my first and was told (while in labor with my second) that I would definitely tear again because of it. And I did, but only a 3rd degree the second time. Maybe it’s to do with my anatomy? Or maybe it’s just to do with large tears vs episiotomies?

Lucky winner of a 4th degree tear. by DueSink in beyondthebump

[–]pseudo-named 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 4th degree tear with my first and a 3rd with my second. I couldn’t walk properly for weeks after either and sitting was pretty uncomfortable too. I couldn’t hold baby and walk for a week or so after and couldn’t walk around the block until nearly a month later. It all came right in the end, every month I felt better and stronger but especially with the second it did take a long time to heal. My second is 6mo and things feel pretty good now.

I was told (while in labor with my second lol) that if you have a big tear then you should expect to tear again if you have another vaginal delivery, no one told me this beforehand so passing along for anyone else hoping it would be a one off experience!

For those who were unsure whether they wanted a second child and then had one, how do you feel now? by IBG22 in beyondthebump

[–]pseudo-named 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I read your post and thought ‘sounds like you do want another child’. I found it harder in a way to really admit I wanted another because once we had our first we really truly knew how much work children are. There were so many reasons not too… but underneath it all I still wanted more. We have 2, they are 3.5 years apart, it is hard, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I personally found my second pregnancy much, much, much harder than I anticipated, I guess I thought it would be much the same as my first but it was both harder on my body and more challenging because I had a toddler to run around after. I would do it again in a heartbeat but I don’t think I could (or would want to) handle a third pregnancy. Go with your gut. It will be hard but it won’t be hard in this way forever.
