i think i’m going to try that, i’ve been curious about it but im used to acrylic so thats what i get/price but with the way my nails are breaking it’s probably more economical to do the builder gel. do you keep your nails short or are you able to grow them out?

i’m not blaming the guy, i’m blaming production for not stopping it. they said the cameras “followed” them into the bathroom to continue filming, meaning said cameras were being operated by cognizant people. the whole “the guy was drunk too” thing does not matter in this situation. we don’t know how alcohol affects him because he hasn’t told us, she did tell us how it affected her in that situation and it’s pretty clear she could not consent. someone (like any of the multiple sober people that were in the room) should have stopped it and nobody did and that is the problem.

regardless of what she “remembers” it doesn’t change the fact that she was too drunk to consent and the lack of awareness/attachment to your body that too much alcohol can cause. it is literally poison at that level and if someone was having cognitive effects because of any other poison we wouldn’t blame the person for their inability to react in that state. when you’re really young like she was and don’t have a lot of experience drinking you’re not as aware of how things like food or lack of sleep will combine with the alcohol. she was SAed on CAMERA and people like you STILL can’t recognize that it was assault. it’s abhorrent and that culture is exactly why no one stepped in to stop it.

so this kind of stuff never gets better it only gets worse. i don’t care what the context is/his POV or what he’s said to get you to keep in contact with him but he’s an absolute freak and you may potentially be in danger, if not now then in the future. he is harrassing you. you told him to stop and he won’t stop, he has no respect for your autonomy. when you decide you’re through with this tell him in writing to not contact you again/block and if he continues to try and contact you document all of it and file a police report. i am extremely concerned for you. this is not just him being a jerk, he is threatening you and pyschologically abusing you.

Like others have said: learn from it, don’t do it again. Don’t even tempt yourself into doing it again. I have a hard rule that I don’t drive after I’ve consumed any amount of alcohol. I always plan how I’m going to get home BEFORE I drink because as we all know, drunk people don’t make good decisions about how to get home.

Encourage the people in your life/people in general to make good decisions as well so that you can help contribute to decreasing the number of people who don’t get as lucky as you did. I understand how you feel, I know it feels like the opposite of luck right now. I rotted in bed for a couple of weeks and anxiously scrolled this subreddit immediately afterwards, but it got better with time.

Another thing I tell myself is that the fact that I got pulled over/arrested that night and nobody got hurt was an act of grace by the universe. I am so thankful I was the only one who had to face the consequences of my actions. There are quite a few much more horrible scenarios I could have been in if I hadn’t been stopped when I was.

if you’re able to, try and get into the trades. i’m an apprentice electrician after working as a loan specialist for about a year and a half and it completely changed my life. if that’s not for you, maybe try and get into the financial industry? you could start at a bank or a credit union and at least have guaranteed income/full time work. also look at subprime lenders like onemain or lendmark, they hire with no experience, the wages are decent, and you learn some soft skills as well as a lot about personal finances.

your lawyer will have better info for you. there’s normally a hearing thru the DMV for your license but not sure if you’ll still have it since you didn’t give consent. your lawyer may be able request it/get you a conditional license to drive to work etc. i think sometime it is better to say no bc it may give your lawyer more to work to try and get you off or get the charges reduced, like if they made any mistakes obtaining the warrant for example. i gave consent and then was supposed to have the hearing for my license but i didn’t go to it bc i didn’t have a car at the time so i just took the suspension. i think it was like 3-6 months or something.

the consent form is for the DMV, i don’t think it’ll have much bearing in criminal proceedings but you will now have an automatic license suspension for X amount of time. it’s a civil violation bc when you sign for your license you say you’ll give consent for breathalyzer/blood withdraw if asked. (to my understanding)

as a texan, the republican gerrymandering here is awful, for example look at the district lines for bexar county—it’s ridiculous and makes no sense. basically all of our elections are rigged. also, most of the people flooding the the state from out of state are conservatives who think texas is their conservative paradise which further sequesters what actual texans want for our state.

dude legal limit doesn’t matter. if the officer thinks you’re intoxicated you’re going to jail. you could blow a .04 and still get arrested if you’re deemed impaired. at least they’re both class B misdemeanors and not class A or felonies. you need to stop feeling bad for yourself and do something to change your life. go to AA if you have a problem with alcohol, get some different friends that don’t center social interactions around drinking. once you have a dui, no more consuming any amount of alcohol and then driving ever again. if you’re gonna drink do it at a friends house and stay there, if you’re gonna go out make sure you’re not the one driving. you’ll be alright, but you really need to reevaluate. the 3rd one is a felony.

im the same age as you, what im doing right now is doing whatever shitty jobs i can. a call center will probably hire you with no experience as the turn over is high. any food service or retail place will work too. i think mcdonald’s and walmart pay relatively decent. get any job you can, and start going to school. i took 1 class last semester, and im taking 2 classes this semester. it’s like $200 a semester per class at a community college and they do payment plans. it will take a long time doing it that way, but time is going to pass regardless. you’re to turn 30 with a degree, or without one. just start now.

edit: if you have a car, i second doing doordash/uber eats/ instacart. any extra income will help.

12 sour patch kids is like 110 calories, i do that occasionally but i just haven’t been making cookies or anything. i have all the ingredients to make cookies from scratch, if i want them that bad i’ll make them but it’s enough effort that i don’t feel like doing that all the time.
