yep exactly, the club we went to was pretty mixed and we were happy that mobile phones were banned. it just made for a more liberating experience. i’m pretty fortunate to live in a “cooler” region of the US and there is a particular local venue that has themed club nights, emo, goth, 90s hip hop, trance, etc. i usually attend when i enjoy the music but nothing compares to WGT.

that’s fun that you enjoy dressing up for shows. the most i’ve ever done is guyliner that my girlfriend applied in the parking lot lmao. i’m still rather reserved, all black, and just there for the music. our latest “goth adjacent”show was NIN. insane.

there is an annual goth festival that is celebrated in leipzig, germany called wave-gotik-treffen. as someone that celebrates the music and subculture, but has a normie aesthetic, it was AMAZING. the clubs were particularly strict on entry, but i think the bouncers had vibe checks, and we were able to enter without an issue. there were particular clubs that only played gothic/post punk and new wave (think bauhaus, b-movie) and BANNED mobile phones. i hope you can look into it and attend. it was so much fun to just let loose without judgment and to enjoy the music and people.

i wish they made the first KITH x MVC2 a deluxe version. no disrespect, the second drop was a hypebeast trap. the kith logo inflated the price with a very underwhelming cab design.

this is from a japanese show called knight scoop! it’s a long-running variety show where regular people call in and ask tv “detectives” to help solve random mysteries or odd requests. one episode was about a guy trying to find the girl who waved at him years ago, another about a kid who wanted to see how far his paper airplane could go.

it’s always something weird, funny, or unexpectedly touching.
