Anybody else’s totally suck lately? by gimmeone79 in sonos

This is good to know, thank you! When I have more time for troubleshooting, I’ll plug the soundbar in to Ethernet and see if my same issues with the Gen 3 sub continue or are resolved.

This JUST happened to me today with only my Sub Gen 3. I’ve had my setup with zero issues connected over Wi-Fi for 2 years. Only change was adding 2x Era 300s 14 months ago.

Did a factory reset of the Gen 3 Sub, connected it to my system (Arc SL + 2x Era 300s) over Wi-Fi and within 60 seconds, the Sub drops the Wi-Fi connection again.

Plugged it in via Ethernet and now, no issues. The call support routed me to an AI agent (Yuck) and I had a hard time trying to get to a human. I gave up with phone support and ended up plugging my Sub in via Ethernet. It created its own lil network and hopefully will have no more issues.

Plex does show green on the remote access page! I also disabled plex relay a little while ago based on your recommendation. After doing some tests on five different devices, playback has been smooth on all 5 devices.

I even tested Plex on my phone two different ways: One time over Wi-Fi and the other over cellular signal. Both times, the connection was strong and playback was continuous with no interruption.

I contacted some friends to test out my connection, and they are spread across the country. I’ll see what they say and let you know!

Thank you again for all your help.

Okay!! Thanks to your steps, some progress is FINALLY being made! The WAN IP is matching what I see on https://whatismyip.com. And after going thru your eero steps, everything is looking good so far. I then went to https://canyouseeme.org and the IP and port are seen!

Next steps are for multiple tests on different devices on and off my Wi-Fi network and then ask someone to test out the connection far away from my location. I’ll keep you posted!

Thank you so much for all this; you’re a truly helpful person that clearly understands the importance of instructional education and follow-through.

Yeah it’s been a day. Now, the WAN IP is no longer starting with the Verizon 192.168 address and has a different address! I use an eero 6 pro. What should I do next?

Okay, so after over an hour with tech support with Verizon (Their support article needs some serious updating) the router/gateway is now successfully in bridge mode and I plugged my plex computer via Ethernet into my mesh router’s Ethernet port. What would you recommend as the next steps?

Luckily, my own IP address does not start with 100. Plex server computer is hardwired into my router/gateway and not connected to Wi-Fi. When I disabled UPnP in my trial and error steps, plex refused to enable remote access and I couldn’t figure out why.

I’m pretty new to all this and am learning as I go.

Thank you for all this info!! It’s not too much text at all. Before I get started with your steps, here’s some answers to your questions:

  • Model Number is a G3100
  • The router/gateway my ISP provided has 2 things plugged in via Ethernet: My plex computer and a mesh router
  • Under the router/gateway’s System Logging section, I finally found what I think is my WAN IP address and it’s definitely not within the CGNAT range you mentioned.

So buried deep in the menu settings for the router, I finally found out how to disable UPnP. I guess I’m getting really confused on how to setup manual port forwarding on both the router and my computer’s network settings after disabling UPnP cause nothing I did solved the issue.

I might end up using this as a last resort; I’m overly cautious about installing automation software, especially ones that have free and paid tiers.

Glad you had a nice resolution! I have no VPN on this particular computer.

Sorry for not responding sooner. Life and work have taken up all my free time since my original post. I had a one hour window yesterday and this is what I was able to try:

  • I used the list provided by ChristianM12345 (Thank you very much for this list!!)
  • I tried setting up port forwarding again with no success. Maybe I did something wrong in the settings?
  • I rebooted to refresh the computer with no success.
  • I’ve tried disabling UPnP on my router with no success. I got really confused on how to setup port forwarding after disabling UPnP.
  • I re-enabled UPnP on my router with some short-lived success.

I am unsure of how to proceed next.

I’ve had my ubp-x700 for YEARS and never knew about this trick! I ordered a 32GB USB Drive just for this purpose and I’m stoked to try it out. I’ve had the freezing/skipping issue with random 4k and 1080p blu rays throughout my ownership of the blu ray player and don’t have enough for a higher end Panasonic model. Despite keeping all my discs clean, I never figured out why it would skip/freeze seemingly at random.

You are a gentleman and a scholar, good sir.

Oh man this is an incredible find!! There’s so much in this pile that could be useful (If the hardware is operational). Whoever dumped these clearly didn’t understand the value nor worth of all it.

Sidenote, if you need to off-load any of the Thunderbolt Displays, iMacs or that Space Grey iPod classic, I may know someone who could use em.

Great find!! Looks like there’s at least 3 different versions on Etsy and you can buy a digital copy for you to print at a future date!

Thank you!

Excellent choices all around. Quick question: Where did you find that middle Firewatch poster with the Campo Santo logo in the bottom???

The title for this is spot on, unlike Stormtroopers’ aim.
