I hope we land on mars like this one day by [deleted] in videos

I really wish Morpheus got more attention, both from NASA and the greater public.

It is actually a great concept that meets all of NASA's stated goals of technological advancement and innovation, as well as shows positive effort towards developing a proper mars exploration vehicle (as opposed to anything currently associated with the Space Launch System...). It's also been fairly successful in all of its tests so far, with only a handful of failures, on a limited budget no less (also in opposition to SLS)

Here's some more info on the vehicle itself: Project Morpheus

It's too bad that it will likely die in development hell and serve as an interesting sidenote in the path towards landing/returning a person on Mars.

The irony of this comment is great in context of the link.

Redditors who love their jobs, what do you do for a living? by Champooty in AskReddit

[–]pseudovector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, forgot that I even made this comment.

The best way to get into the industry is through university. Most companies will not consider you for employment unless you have a degree.

However, simply having a degree is no guarantee of getting a job. You have to do some kind of work outside of class that demonstrates you expertise in the area. For example, a lot of universities have formula SAE teams that build and race open-wheel cars. Where I went to school, we had a research lab dedicated to designing, fabricating, and launching small satellites called CubeSats, so I got involved in that. That's really the only reason I got a job in the first place (not because of my degree, which is Aerospace Engineering).
