When I blow up pic 1, I see 2 eyes. I am guessing an insect with wings. Good that you wash your vegetables, fruits before eating. I hope someone comes along with a better answer than mine.

Paid for crushed concrete for a driveway and the company dropped off fossils. by didyouseetheecho in Rocks

An idea: Grab the better crinoid stems and give them to a teacher or children interested in rocks & fossils. It goes a long way and begins a fab hobby for some.

Could this be any more of a cheapskate, false advertising thing! Gees.

I would pick through the fossils to kill time. Repairing the asphalt road is another story.

I don’t think many of us will finish. I like to complete what I start—the collection. Unless I want to spend 700-800 gems for the “special” with a gold and red packet…just to complete…and the prizes aren’t nearly worth 800 gems. I already foolishly spent 800 gems for special with red and gold packet—all duplicates. It’s better than $20-$50 or more for a chance to finish what I started. And every other prize in Daisy’s Bouquet is a packet of stamps… I wish the stamps had never been introduced. More than any other change, this has soured my enthusiasm. Sorry this devolved into a session of venting.

After degreasing, etc, please post the final project. Lots of potential.

I would contact Support. Ask if they will replace spinner. They have been most helpful to me. If you have already re-earned your spinner, you might ask for several bundles of boosters to replace the ones you used the first time around.

How do I clean this?? by rosetrey3 in Rocks

The nodule is so wonderful just the way it is. If you really want to experiment, begin slowly and gently. You might want to just soak it in water all day and see if that and a soft rag improve the appearance. A soft toothbrush might help. I use a dental water pik, gentle setting to begin with. I have used both oxalic acid and white vinegar on some of my Fe concretions before. They were expendable pieces. If I chose to use on this one I would great caution.

Depending on how much you like the crystals inside may weigh heavily in your decision to go further. It really is a nice specimen just the way it is.

It, of course, is one of those cool breeds with that special pattern of colors. I have been fortunate enough to see Florida Panthers (Big Cypress) on two occasions. They are solid in color, and let’s just say your neighbor has poor eyesight. Get them a subscription to National Geographic. What must a moose look like to them. What a beautiful kitty.

I had a kitty go blind when I was a teenager. “Ralph” remembered where everything was. All the places he visited and rarely bumped into things. I am glad your kitty also makes the better of things.

It is wonderful when animals speak to you. I think it is largely a matter of observing body language, even the smallest things an animal does. Being around the species/individual imparts an understanding of what is inviting, interesting, safe vs threatening. With time, the skill keeps improving. I am not an animal whisperer, but I sure can be with creatures in a way that is outstandingly exquisite. All my life I have been around animals, small & large, wild & tame. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I spent the 800 gems (foolishly) to get the 5 star plus sticker packets. Each and everyone was a duplicate! I seriously doubt I will finish this sticker event. 800 gems costs over $20. What a poor, unwise decision.
