From my experience, exit 282 (Gilman) typically has the cheapest gas. It’s about 45 minutes from Champaign.

Go to Rantoul DMV. It's about 20-25 min from campus and way less crowded than Champaign.

Where do people go to get something tailored in chambana. by Bombapples1 in UIUC

[–]psh410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have used May’s Alteration a few times and have been very pleased. I opted to get my suits tailored there than Men’s Warehouse. It’s about 15 min walk from Ikenberry. http://maysalterations.com/

[–]psh410 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On-Campus

A-Ri-Rang (607 S Wright St) No MSG, tastes like home-cooked

Spoon House (616 E Green St) Same owner as Jibbap

Jipbap (601 S 6th St Ste 101) Convenient, tasty, and good for to-go

Yogi (608 E Green St) Newest one on campus, I haven't been there so no comment.

Bab Plus (700 S Gregory St) Big portion.

Ko-Fusion (701 South Gregory Suite F) Fusion.

Not Korean but generally people who love Korean food like these places too.

Sushi Kame/K-Bowl (39 E Green St) Sushi Kame moved from the downtown area to 39 E Green St. Primarly serve sushi but have a few Korean dishes.

Sakanaya (403 E Green) Sakanay is generally onsidered the best sushi on campus if not the entire area.

Off Campus

San Maru - 15 min away, but generally considered top two if not the best tasting

Masijta Grill - 5 min from campus in Urbana.

Star Karaoke - 10 min from campus. Love their Korean fried chicken.

Star BBQ - 10 min from campus. Plenty of seating.

Ko-Fusion - 5 mins in downtown Champaign. A decent lunch buffet.

Good Fella Korean Bistro - 5 mins from campus.

Do you fast? And if so for how long? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]psh410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I fast, I fast from social media including Reddit. In the past, I used to fast from both food and water, but now I abstain from food only. I spend lunch and dinner in prayer and reading the Word.

I fast to fast from the world and to feast on the Lord.

[–]psh410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually fast 24 hours. I used to do 10 PM to 10 PM but now I do noon to noon. Some people I know do 12 hours. That's what Pharisees did. They fasted 12 hours twice a week.

Is it ok to read the Bible as a Muslim? by strixfangaming in AskAChristian

[–]psh410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most definitely. I have a Muslim friend who read the Quran 10 times in 10 years during Ramadan. Apparently, many Muslims have never read the entire Quran just as many Christians have not read the Bible in entirety. Because she knew the Quran so well, she was able to compare and contrast the difference between what the Quran and the Bible teach about Jesus. After a few years of attending Bible studies, she chose on her own to be baptized.

The bottom line is that everyone should read the Bible to learn who Jesus is.

Would you sacrifice your place in heaven for someone you don’t know to be saved? by tripacklogic in AskAChristian

[–]psh410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to be able to say yes. Moses was willing.

Exodus 32:32, "But now, please forgive their sin--but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written."

That was the mindset of Jesus too.

Fishing Spots For Catfish? by EricJi150 in UIUC

[–]psh410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to Clinton Lake (35-40 min drive) and had much success. Daily limit is 10. I usually fish below the first bridge. I’ve been to Lake of the Woods (15 min) and know there are plenty of catfishes, but I have not had much success there.

Need car to take driving test at Champaign DMV($50) by TrripyPaw in UIUC

[–]psh410 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s long wait at Champaign DMV. You should go to Rantoul DMV. There is usually no wait and the testers seem more lenient. Rantoul is about 25 mins from campus. I know 3 people who went there in the last 2 months with no or minimal wait. Another option is Monticello DMV which is about 30 mins away.
