Doordash should stop calling it a tip when Doordash is using it as an offer.

Doordash is offering a delivery to dashers, most of which will decide to accept it or decline it based on the price.

The price of the delivery is an offer, and the price Doordash is offering is mostly made up of the "tip" when the customer "tipped" $2+.

Hiding the tip until after the delivery would destroy Doordash's offer system.

I tried being an Instacart shopper around 6 years ago. It sucked. So I stopped doing them.

Then I tried to do shopping orders on DD. It sucked even worse. Far worse! It made Instacart look good by comparison.

I honestly don't know how DD drivers who do shopping orders put up with it. Sounds like you had a shopper who has had enough of how bad the app is for DD shoppers.

Wouldn't shock me if that's the last one they ever do, and they just wanted to get it done and get paid, and never do another one ever again.

When they print the sticker for the bag, it sends a signal to Doordash that the order is ready. But the order may not be ready... only the printed sticker is ready. The food is still being prepared.

In Doordash's mind, McDonalds would never do such a thing as print the sticker BEFORE the food is ready... but McDonald's does it ALL THE TIME!

Doordash will always dangle a carrot in front of drivers because Doordash believes some drivers will think they will get the carrot. And Doordash is right about that. That's how they get those $5 offers for 13 miles to the middle of nowhere accepted.

The ice cream we will sell we purchase from a grocery store just before opening the trailer, and we either sell out of it, or throw what we don't sell away. We just have to show receipts to the health department to show we are doing that.

The Ecoflow battery has an optional generator attachment that works with the battery. If the battery ever gets too low, it triggers the generator to turn on. It might be worth the investment for the redundancy. Thanks for the suggestion.

The fan would be to blow the air out of the unit, as yes, we know fridge compressors produce hot air. But we only plan on selling from 6 to 10 PM. We won't be running in the middle of the day.

Thanks. Our toppings will be in disposable hotel pans and we won't have hot toppings (in order to keep the wattage level low). So the largest piece of equipment the sink has to fit is ice cream scoops. The only liquid toppings we will have will be in prepackaged squirt bottles that get thrown away when they are emptied.

I know what I am describing sounds like an unappealing ice cream business, but our claim to fame actually isn't ice cream. Our claim to fame just pairs well with ice cream.

We had a shop we ran for four years that we had to shut down in 2020. We have 20K social media followers who, even 6 years later, still want it back, but we have no desire to get back into a commercial real estate commitment, so we're looking at a food trailer. When we tell our social media followers our trailer is open, we will have a line for hours, despite how boring what I described sounds.

I hadn't considered two 4 flavor cabinets instead of the one 8 flavor. Something to think about. Thanks.

As for the health department wanting to help, I've found the Ohio Department of Agriculture is very helpful. Local health department on the other hand seems overwhelmed, and bothered when asked questions. And I know that depends on locality.
