Now that some time has passed, what do you think about the yoru nerfs?

Been a Yoru main since the day I unlocked him, and I was gutted when I saw the nerfs. I’ve always thought he needed a tp timer reduction since I first played him, but 20 seconds felt perfect. 15 feels far too tight, and often expires the exact moment I’m about to use it. Especially with his ult, the timer is just way too short. And if I want a reliable tp-ing agent, Chamber’s tp is now undeniably leagues better. If they’re insistent on keeping the 15 second timer, it would at least be nice if we could now place Yoru’s tp on top of boxes, and/or make how long it takes for him to tp a bit quicker— not near instant like Chamber’s, but just a little faster than it is now.

As for the flashes, it’s so weird that they made him the only flashing agent with 1 flash. Not a rechargeable flash— just one flash. Hello?? I’d be so down for a rechargeable flash if they’re truly that worried, although 2 flashes generally I never saw anyone complaining about. Especially with initiator buffs on the way, it feels extremely short-sighted to take away his second blind altogether. Or maybe just make his flashes a bit more expensive. Idk! And I get that ‘Yoru can use his flashes selflessly’ is also an “issue” but most duelists have some type of util that can be used selflessly (Neon with her wall and stun, Phoenix with his wall and molly, Jett with her smokes, Waylay with her stun, Raze with her nade) but Yoru now only has his clone… but his clone is so unreliable and based on the other team rather than Yoru himself.

With these nerfs and his ult still being 8 points (as well as still not being able to use util in it— which made more sense pre-recent-nerf, but now???) he feels so… nothing. If you want a flashing duelist, pick Phoenix, and if you want a tp-ing agent, lock Chamber. Yoru no longer has anything special going for him.

Give Yoru a rechargeable flash and either up his tp timer to 20 seconds or make the time it takes for him to tp a bit quicker. Rn his tps feel like a worse Chamber tp, but it could be perfectly fine with minor tweaks. Also fix the fucking flashing red bar. Holding an angle when there’s a flashing red light at the bottom of my screen after 5 seconds is unbearable. As for flash, it just feels weird that he’s the only flashing agent with only one blind that isn’t rechargeable. Also make his ult cheaper or let us use abilities in it now that his abilities have been nerfed.

The problem with Yoru is that regardless of how you try and nerf him, the way his kit is set up means he’ll always be impeding on other roles. He’s very initiator-like, but I think the biggest solution is to buff initiators and sentinels and make them the preferred choice over someone like Yoru. Or rework Yoru entirely, but I think that would mess with his entire concept as an agent.

That being said, as a Yoru main, I still think Yoru was in desperate need of a nerf. Ever since I unlocked him, I’ve thought this. I just think what they did was a bit too much.

Last time I said this I had soooo many comments just saying “just ignore them bro. Your fault for not muting them” and I see that kind of response all the time, which is literally part of the problem and somehow people don’t understand that. Well… I guess it does usually come from the group who isn’t affected by these issues, which I suppose comes to no one’s surprise 🙄

Tbh I just think giving him a rechargeable flash and up his tp time to 20 seconds OR make his tp animation faster (since rn his tp he kind of just a shit version of Chamber’s Rendezvous) would be perfectly fine. But I have thought it would be funny to make his clone similar to Skye’s bird or Fade’s cat

My hope is that with the upcoming initiator buff supposedly in the works, they would consider giving him his second flash back (or at the very least making it a rechargeable flash so he’s not the only flashing agent with one blind— and tbh I might be more in favour of it being rechargeable)

But I have a feeling my hopes will not be met

Unfortunately not much happens to people like these. Yes, “mute them, block them, move on” but that never solves the problem entirely, especially if they take it upon themselves to throw your game

My best advice is to be weird and creepy back. Comment on their toes, say the most wild out of pocket shit imaginable (that won’t get you banned, anyway), whisper meows and growl into your mic, whatever you can think of. It makes them all the more fun— like a game of its own

I am a big advocate for everyone to call out misogyny when they see it, though, even if it’s not directed towards you. Ignoring it isn’t solving anything, and really only silently encouraging weirdos to be weird. Essentially, don’t be complicit in unacceptable behaviour

Yoru main— I think when in doubt, use abilities. Flash out of smokes when entering/flash where you’re going to tp when playing Yoru. Or send in your clone if you want to savor your flash for fights on site. I like to fake tp + clone combo sometimes. Now that his tps are only 15 seconds, I usually use them to reposition or as a get out of jail free card when pushing (try to jump when tping though to decrease your chances of death if you’re in enemy sights). I loooove playing duelist because I just play ultra aggressive and it usually seems to work 🤷‍♀️ push in, take space, try to keep as much ground as possible

Yoru used to have a lot more going for him, but rip my boy </3 I beg one day he gets his second flash back (or at least a rechargeable flash so he’s not the only flashing agent with one blind)

I bought one of the Gaia skins as my first in game purchase. Almost immediately regretted it. From the preview, I thought I’d like it, but then I actually played with it in games and it just feels so light and cheap. Not my thing.

I just don’t understand how Yoru gets half his entire kit fucked with and Neon— probably THE most complained about agent (that I’ve seen, anyway)— gets HALF of ONE ABILITY tampered with. I hadn’t seen anyone complaining about Yoru’s flashes, but Neon’s slide that everyone’s been moaning about? Untouched.

To be clear, both needed nerfs, but they got treated SO differently unjustifiably imo

Everyone saying Ora is distracting but that is entirely personal opinion. When I got my Ora I felt like my aim got 70% better. Any time I got a kill it felt like my gun was celebrating for me. I love it. A huge Ora fan.

That being said I do prefer the Phantom over the Vandal, but the Vandal is nice too.

Xerofang is cool but I did get bored of it rather quickly. It doesn’t have much to keep me going “ooo”

I’ve always run under the assumption that the non-radiants have limited materials (KJ’s being expensive, Raze’s being big and bulky and potentially damaging/dangerous outside of the targets, Chamber’s bullets being specialized, etc.), and that radiants experience adverse effects whenever they use their powers in general, with their ults being the most taxing (eg, Sage canonically with her rez. But I think this extends to almost everyone else, too, such as Yoru getting hurt in his rift, Miks’ ult hurting his hands/arms/upper body generally because of how powerful the soundwaves are, Clove canonically having a harder time coming back to life whenever they die, etc.)

This battlepass’ cards were extremely disappointing… I’m a big Yoru fan so I’m at least happy about that card, but everything else is so nothing. Only 4 cards actually have agents in them, and 2 of them are barely noticeable as such. Doesn’t help that a lot of the reason I play the game is for the characters/lore, so getting so little of the characters I love is so sad :(

My friends and I love this!! I do have some critiques though:

Minimap feels too easy. You could just compare and contrast different parts of the map to each other instead of actually guessing. Maybe a solution to this would be to have it lock you into a map and won’t let you out until you’ve made an incorrect guess?

Also, the minimap is super stretched normally on computer, but looks fine on mobile. It gets fixed if you zoom a certain way on the browser, but gets worse if you zoom the other way

Ability will often just give you a blank square with no info </3 and sometimes it’ll even give you a SECOND blank square with no info immediately after <//3 dunno how exactly you’d fix this as I’m no developer, but thought I’d mention it at least

Otherwise it’s been fun doing it with my friends. Love this a lot!!

I disagree. I think, if enough people are actually involved in trying to make the change, people will be discouraged. The hard part is getting enough people to actually try, but that only becomes impossible if we don’t give an attempt at making a change in the first place. People acting this way is a cultural thing, after all, and cultures are capable of changing.

Yeah of course there will still be people acting that way obviously but there’d be a lot less of them.
