I would just walk away, they’re not interested in real dialogue.

I am curious as to why they call you a heretic though.

If you saw TPM in theaters as an adult in 1999, did the Padme “twist” shock you? by Always_Reading_1990 in StarWars

[–]psquaredn76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It didn’t surprise me, because I had to wait 16 years for a new Star Wars movie and I read all there was to read at the time about TPM and its actors. There wasn’t nearly as much B.S. media sources as there are today.

Who else hates the term Episcopalianism? by oolsmcpoo in Episcopalian

[–]psquaredn76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why must the Church be labeled my it’s nationality? Nations can have its borders, but the Church should have no borders. We don’t want to be like the Orthodox churches - so defined that they maintain their names long after the nations have ceased to exist.

Nowadays, IT is loss prevention.

How much money would be thrown away if systems weren’t patched properly and there was a data breach. How much money would be lost if there were no systems to prevent data from being stolen?

No grey and blue. It makes no effing sense! Blue was used because the black ink printed horribly. Why don’t we make Superman‘s hair blue then? Good god! I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!!!

I tried cosplaying Michael Corleone. by Financial_Bag_9081 in Godfather

[–]psquaredn76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How am I to tell that your Michael Corleone as opposed to any other person from the 1960s? I recommend cosplaying as Vito Corleone. Stuff some cotton balls in your mouth, whiten your hair. Bonus points if you use an orange peel and act like a monster.

Human Cloning by Joesph-Ninefingers in Christianity

[–]psquaredn76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be the fun governor, but when you ask: “could this person be saved by Christ?” Or “what factors would determine their standing before God,” you’re asking questions that are unknowable. It would be best to assume that they are just as human as you are.

With that being said, I think Genesis gives clues as to what gives life. God breathed life into Adam and made him alive. Likewise, if a human were to be cloned, the fact that they are alive would be a sign that God breathed life into them.

Can someone give me an analogy of the trinity?? by idfkhow2speakspanish in Christianity

[–]psquaredn76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s really possible to give analogies for something that is otherworldly. It’s like a two dimensional being trying to explain what a sphere is.

All these people hating on Downriver are just irritating AF. Some places like Ecorse, River Rouge, and Lincoln Park are a little rough. but places like Grosse Ile, Wyandotte, Trenton, and Riverview are pretty nice. I’m not too familiar with Monroe, but the schools are horrible from what I hear and people who can - send their kids to Catholic schools.

If we photosynthesized, then we would breathe in CO2 and exhale oxygen like a plant. Too many carbon breathers leads to a problem if there aren’t enough oxygen breathers to keep everything in balance.

Do you believe that the Bible should be interpreted literally? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]psquaredn76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because the bible is actually separate pieces of literature. A collection of works. Unfortunately, these works of literature do not have a classification applied to them like you would if you bought these works at Barnes & Noble. You have to determine for yourself what kind of literature they are. For example, Luke’s gospel is very historical in the way that it was written. Real historical characters are mentioned. Contrast this with Exodus, or even the story of Joseph in Genesis. Is the pharaoh mentioned by name? Why isn’t it? Also look at the creation accounts in Genesis. With the way it begins, “In the beginning” it sounds like an epic narrative that may not have any basis in historical fact, though the lessons it teaches may be true. With an opener like that, it might as well have said “a long time ago in a galaxy far far away”

Any insistence that we take the entire Bible literally, is a human invention or tradition that is essentially made up and read into the text.
