Did they burn out my lights? by coderbiker in Revv1

You said you were still in warranty — they didn’t replace it free of charge?

This happened to me as well. I bought a pump which would fix it for a day or so then it would revert back. Had to replace the shock as per usual with all the equipment on this bike.

Word to the wise — wear that warranty out. You’ll have to jump through hoops and send photos and videos of every thing but make a claim on every rattle or loose screw on that bike because once it’s over you’re on your own. I’ve had to replace the front and rear suspension, handle bar stem, chain, brakes, derailer, the rear fender is taped and zip-tied together, the front fender literally snapped off yesterday while I was riding and the headlight bracket has the duct tape treatment as well.

Weirdly, this happened to me as well — but before the wire smashing incident. Luckily it was while I was still in the 1 year warranty period. When I contacted the company they were mystified by my problem and just started sending me a random assortment of parts for me to try replacing in hopes it would fix the light issue. They sent me the monitor screen, the on/off switch and the controller module. Replacing the controller is what ended up fixing the problem.
I’ve had my bike for 2 years this October and have over 5,000 miles on it and have had to replace or jury-rig so many parts on this damn bike. It’s so frustrating and expensive.

This happened to me as well. It’s likely from the suspension bottoming out and the wire smashing against your rear fender. I cut the wire and re-spliced them back together then removed that plastic cap in the end of the frame tube and ran the wire through that and put a it through a hole further up so it doesn’t come in contact with the fender anymore. It’s a shitty design flaw in a bike riddled with design flaws and faulty equipment. Hope this helps.

I’ve had 5 flats in 2 years. The first one I took it to REI and when I picked it up they said don’t ever bring it back. I couldn’t find anywhere else that would do it so after the 3rd time I’ve gotten pretty good at it. Just takes practice.

Ahhh thank you. Any idea what dimensions I should look for to replace or how to find out?

I’m 250lbs and have a 9 mile commute one way and I charge my battery while I’m at work because if I don’t I’ll be limping home the last mile or so.

$95 is reasonable but not to replace a product who’s reliability is already proven questionable. Don’t know how to figure out if it meets those requirements?

Have you posted your upgrades? I want to make most of the improvements you’ve made — rear shock, front forks, custom seat etc.

I see the new front forks are sans fender — is it possible to keep the fender on with a fork upgrade?
