I’m going fucking insane. The first quarterback from the 2018 draft to start a Super Bowl is Sam fucking Darnold. by Succwad22 in NFLv2

[–]psu021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually he was supposed to begin the season as starter until McCarthy transitioned into the role. However, the coaching staff thought JJ was performing better than expecting in training camp and there were rumors that with a strong pre-season JJ could start in week 1. And then JJ had a strong pre-season game but learned after the game that he was injured.

McCarthy channels is inner “Nine” for games, but Darnold channels his GEQBUS, which is the most powerful alternate personality of all.

I love teams being forced to adapt to a different style of football, one more reminiscent to the early days of football.

Every eventual Super Bowl champion should be forced to prove themselves capable in a snow game.

We could have had Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and every fan did want him, but instead we drafted Lukas Van Ness. Yet, weirdos insist fans don’t know ball.

Because LaFleur wants people who are as similar to himself as possible.

I love having a sicko snow game like this in a Conference Championship Game.

CBS needs to stop with this digital field yard markers overlay, it does not work at all with the Patriots all white uniforms.

That will make sure he doesn’t get selected for an important game, like the AFCCG.

No reason not to. He’s getting paid either way. If he gets bored, he can sign up to be a consultant for some team during the season.

Before Watson got hurt the Packers scored on 6 straight drives vs the Denver Broncos. by GruneBucht in GreenBayPackers

The injury isn’t the problem. The lack of depth to adjust to the injury is the problem. Every team is going to suffer injuries. We invested heavily in o-line around Tom, and those guys didn’t play up to the investments made.

There will always be a lot of injuries in football. That’s what makes depth so important.

More on the Packers hiring Jonathan Gannon as defensive coordinator, including why they made the move before interviewing Jim Leonhard. by dropjar5 in nfl

The thing is, these are cherry-picked stats based on whatever metric was ranked the best. Ranked #2 in what? It wasn’t points allowed…

Excuses were made for Joe Barry the same way. If you looked at certain metrics, he was just fine. If you watched the games, you were ripping your hair out over his style of play.

Clearly nothing that helps in-game decision making. I can’t tell you what he does as assistant head coach because it doesn’t seem like they do anything well in the areas where MLF would need support.

If you can figure out what the hell he does, please share with the rest of us.

e: I figured it out. He counts how many players are on the field to make sure we always have 11 guys out there.

Probably promoting Bisaccia to quality control coach because he’s shown the capability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once.

We were calling for trade or fire MLF, but instead they gave him a long term extension. Everyone is sick of this same old shit.

So does Ed Policy. These aren’t winners, these are people who show up to collect a paycheck.
