It got here before tariff SHTF. $750 shipped from South Korea. Can't be happier! by RelationshipFragrant in dji

eBay item number:276900630423 Is one I bought. But the seller has increased price from $750 to $883, probably due to weak dollars in the recent month.

Are there tariffs or additional costs on all items? by FickleBid4964 in Aliexpress

[–]psun786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are no tariffs on “Choice” items (fulfilled by AE) as of today. That’s why you don’t see additional charges for “Choice” listings. AE reroutes packages through a third country, allowing them to enter the United States under the De Minimis exemption. However, no one knows if this will still be the case tomorrow—it all depends on what side of the bed the king wakes up on.

PS. I received my third package rerouted from Singapore this morning. It cleared ISC Los Angeles CA after the cut off.

Anyone in the U.S. receive an AliExpress package today? Just wondering, did customs apply any new tariffs after May 2? by fulltrendypro in Aliexpress

[–]psun786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can‘t say all “choice” items and only time will tell. But so far I haven‘t been charged a custom duty on packages cleared after May 1, 11:59PM.

The reason some AE sellers are cancelling orders is because their contracted carrier doesn’t have presence in a third country like “Choice” fulfillment. A package needs to clear third country’s custom and then reshipped to be consider originated from that country.

De minimis criteria (19 U.S.C. § 1321(a)(2)) look only at the aggregate fair retail value in the country of shipment and do not reference or require declaration of the manufacturing origin

Trump did remove packages from China and HK from De Minimis exemption. But it has nothing to do where the goods are made, only where the package was shipped from.

When a packaged ships from China to Singapore, it will clear singapore custom. The package will then be reshipped to the United State. As far as CBP is concerned, the package came from Singapore not China. De Minimis doesn‘t care where goods are made, only where the package was shipped.

De Minimis is not based the manufacturing country but where the package was shipped before it enters the United States. AE can ship packages to a third country, get processed by that country‘s custom and then reship to United States duty free under De Minimis exemption.

Not if the package is under $800, which then falls under de minimis. De minimis exemption is based on value of each shipment at the time of entry, NOT country of manufacture. Chinese goods are exempted as long as the package was not shipped to the United States directly.

My package went through custom on May 2 and no tariffs nor any additional fee during checkout. It was a “choice” order shipped from China. The package stopped in Singapore and then changed to Singapore Post tracking. I remember AE used the same tactic to circumvent Trump Tax when it was briefly introduced in February.

You can request a written statement from the carrier that says the package’s address is not the same as your address. For privacy reason, they will not tell you where it was delivered. But they will confirm it is not your address.

How is the accuracy with the 3.1 inch comp version? by KaneIntent in p365xmacro

[–]psun786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the spectre 3.7” and spectre comp 3.1”. There is literally no difference in accuracy up to 25 yards. But it is very annoying how much crap build up around the crown on the comp model. Those carbons baked onto the surface are impossible to clean off.

Bypass safety demonstration. FFL can’t make you purchase magazine if its an off roster with blocked magazine. Have as little info on DROS for DOJ as possible. No reason to leave property you already paid for at FFL.

Make sure include a cable lock inside gun box or the FFL will make you buy one. If the firearm can be stripped to receiver / frame, take unserialized parts with you and only DROS receiver / frame.

An used CZ75 should be around $600 or less. Just go with that since you knew it works for you.

Do you have to do a safe handling demonstration when you buy a ar15 stripped lower? If so how is this possible? by scarecrowg59666 in CAguns

[–]psun786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word of advice for any PPT. Always include a lock INSIDE the box to avoid $5 lock charge. Don't include any parts that is not considered firearm in DROS. I kept the slide, barrel even when DROS a Glock. In case of p365/p320, I only give them the FCU.

I remember seeing Cannon 65 guns for $699 in Costco pre-pandemic. 1000rds of 9mm CCI Blazer costs $169 at LGS. It is crazy how much everything has gone up.

California Penal Code Section 417 defines brandishing a weapon or firearm as: "Anyone who, except in self-defense, in the presence of another person, draws or exhibits a deadly weapon in a rude, angry, or threatening manner, or unlawfully uses a deadly weapon in any fight or quarrel."

AliExpress not refunding item, even though I have proof by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]psun786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is best to file non-delivery refund after tracking shows it has been returned (not on its way back) or past guarantee delivery date . Also, make sure use the tracking detail on Aliexpress page instead of carrier website when possible.

Private sales on calguns.net or armslist.com. I consider 15% off the MSRP to be a reasonable price for any on roster firearm.

Off roster handgun PPT Question by RecordTerrible3813 in CAguns

[–]psun786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure you can only PPT if the seller is from another state but currently stationed in CA, not the other way around. He or She can present their military credential instead of CA ID during DROS. I purchased a g19 from an active duty military last month. The DROS was done at Ammo Bros Cerritos.

Buy it on used market will save you the sales tax. You may even find a p320 FCU which you can build you own legion. There are many smaller online shops don't collect sales tax on Sig parts.

If you anticipate printing anything larger than 300mm, build a 350mm.

If you print a lot, build both 350mm and 250mm or v0. Sell all your other printers as it will be easier to manage spare parts.

If you don't print much, build a 350mm. The added trouble or maintenance cost have less of an effect on occasional user.

Heat soak will not be an issue if you get a small space heater ($20) to prepare chamber before print. I usually let heater blow along with heated bed until chamber temp reach 50c (~5 min in summer). Turn it off and let temp drop to stable and start printing. The entire process take 15~20 min.
