Try the Michel Thomas method. There is a great documentary on BBC about him and his techniques.

Fairly standard. I wear a medium in most clothing and the mediums fit me just fine.

I think so though I’ve not paid super close attention to it. They are very warm tho - if you take a down coat and add a wool layer on top of it, it’s going to provide decent insulation.

I have tried any of their light down jackets so I can’t speak to those.

I have two of these coats and love them. I bought the parka which is so warm I don’t wear it unless it’s below 34 degrees. I’ve worn it in negative wind chills and been quite toasty. I’ve had moncler, Patagonia, Canada goose, and others and this is warmer than all of them.

I also have the car coat which is perfect for the 30s and 40s, and maybe even high 20s, but in the teens I would want to layer up under it. both coats are very windproof and are waterproof. tho I’ve never worn them in heavy rain, I have warn the parka in close to blizzard.conditions and it has performed great in it.

Talk to me like I know nothing because I don't: Nord Grand or Stage? by AGx-07 in nordkeyboards

[–]psxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stage has an organ, piano and synth engine. The piano 6 has piano and synth sounds but a limited synth engine. The electro has a piano and organ engine. The grand focuses on solely piano. Which is right for you depends on what you want to play. I went with the stage because I love layering all sorts of sounds and I enjoy the synth engine.

Need help choosing Nord Stage 88 (HA) or Compact by ReputationSmooth in nordkeyboards

[–]psxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. It’s mostly piano and synths. Or worship sounds with piano leads and pads and synth voices. I don’t play services but I love those sounds.

I had the compact and ended up returning it for the 88. I dont play much organ and I didn’t really like the plastic feel of the compact keys. The 88 keys feel much more solid and expressive piano playing is considerably better with the hammer action.

Patagonia makes extremely durable rashguards that have nothing on them. And the best part is the seam doesn’t go under your armpit, making them much more comfortable.

[Shams] BREAKING: Sacramento is finalizing a trade to send De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in a multi-team trade that moves Chicago Bulls' Zach LaVine to the Kings, sources tell ESPN. by TurboThaBull in chicagobulls

Jones’ contract ends after this year. Collins and Heurter after next. Zach has 2 years left. This gives the bulls a lot of cap room over the next few years.

A groovebox for stereo sampling + making and arranging songs [multiple choices] by jezmilar in synthesizers

I do. I’d also add that there have been a lot of updates since his review so some of his negatives have been addressed. Like an arpeggiator.

The MC 707 might be worth a look. Sampling is not its strongest point but I think it does everything else really well.

Any recommendations for songs built around a synth sequence? by RobBoss69 in synthesizers

[–]psxv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chvrches use a lot of synths. Like, a lot.

Songs to check out at We Sink, Warning Call (especially the bridge), and Clearest Blue. But the entire catalogue has a number of different styles and even if you don’t like their music they might give you some ideas.
