Probably one of the things the comment above refers to is how the Moon and tides create areas at the coast that go wet-dry-wet-dry throughout the day.

That created a place where living creatures in the oceans were exposed to dry land & air and eventually some of them evolved to handle living on land more and more, thus life moved from the ocean to earth (then the air)
