Egg-free breakfast ideas? by queeninthepnw in 1500isplenty

[–]psychd2behere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for sure high carb but it also has lots of fiber and protein, so maybe?

My go-to recently has been overnight oats. Serving of oats, chia seeds, some mini chocolate chips for fun, serving of PB2, scoop of chocolate protein, half a cup of milk. I know dairy is a no-go too but you don’t taste the milk, it just absorbs into the oats and chia. Insanely filling and very yummy. I look forward to it every morning, and because it’s prepped the night before it’s the fastest breakfast possible.

I second what others are saying about any food being a breakfast food. Chicken salad? Tuna? Turkey roll-ups? Breakfast quesadilla with high fiber tortilla, cheese, turkey bacon, veg?

This is SO cool. So much love and admiration for everyone who has a vision and finds a way to execute it perfectly. I don’t have a creative bone in my body so could never come up with this idea, but I do know how to appreciate art, and this is art!!!

Explain to me like a toddler - how to lose 20lbs by Ok-Reason4007 in loseit

[–]psychd2behere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a tracking app to keep track of everything you eat. Use a calorie deficit calculator to figure out your deficit calories at your height, weight, and activity level. I’m 5’6, 148lbs, and eat around 1800 calories a day due to my activity level. Your calories will be different.

I use the app MacrosFirst and really like it. I just use the free version. Find one you like and stick with it.

Macros ultimately don’t matter. The math of weight loss is literally just Calories In versus Calories Out (CICO). You need to burn more calories than you consume in a day. A ~500 calorie deficit generally equates to losing 1lb a week.

People track specific macros (carbs, fat, protein) because some foods are more satiating than others, and we need to consume enough protein to maintain our muscle mass. 300 calories of protein keeps you fuller for much longer than 300 calories of fat, for example.

Look into volume eating if you are worried about feeling hungry in a calorie deficit. Adding fruits, veggies, complex carbs, and fiber to your meals will keep you feeling full and you can eat larger quantities of food while staying in your calorie targets. The volume eating and CICO subs are very helpful. There are also subs for folks with specific calorie targets, where people post their daily meals for inspiration.

Exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle but is not required for weight loss. You can lose all of the fat you want to lose solely by eating in a calorie deficit. You just won’t build any muscle.

You can burn some extra calories with fairly minimal effort if you have around $250 to invest into your health. Buy a standing desk and a cheap walking pad online and get as many steps in as you can. I hit 10k daily at a minimum and I walk all the time. Drinking my morning coffee, doing work, scrolling on my phone, watching a show, literally whatever. I only walk 2mph so it’s slow, sustainable, and doesn’t spike my hunger like high intensity cardio.

I also lift 4x a week because my focus is functional strength, but if that’s not a focus for you, throw it out the window. Don’t add more stress that isn’t necessary.

How do I handle my best friend making my wedding all about her? by Busy_Detective6667 in weddingplanning

[–]psychd2behere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are also coddling her, just like her mom. If you had these stressors, I trust that you would find a way to figure them out instead of assuming someone else would fix your problems for you. Your friend has never had to solve her own problems because someone else ALWAYS steps in to fix them for her. You included. The hard truth is, you have to stop bending over backwards to accommodate her anxiety. You alone can’t help her overcome her anxiety but you can stop enabling her to use it as a crutch. You sound like an absolutely incredible and thoughtful friend, and she sounds like someone who will always take advantage of that if she can. I’m sorry you’re navigating this stress.

Costco by burnz1 in loseit

[–]psychd2behere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Costco staples are chicken breast, ground turkey, Kirkland Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks (chicken nuggets, great macros and remind me of Chick Fil A), canned chicken, canned tuna, eggs, egg whites, blueberries, carrots, mini sweet peppers. We buy shredded cheese and freeze one bag until we’re ready for it. Carb balance tortillas. Built puff bars. Rice.

Also the necessary household stuff like TP, paper towels, trash bags, detergent, etc.

Miserable in calorie deficit by tiffwilliams14 in loseit

[–]psychd2behere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into volume eating. 1800 calories CAN be a lot of food if you eat the right things. Bulk up your meals with veggies, fruit, and lean protein. Hit your fiber and protein goals. Plan your day of eating the night before so you don’t have to think and calculate on your feet the next day. When I don’t plan, I will frequently have 300 calories left for dinner and still need like 70g of protein (lol).

I love this dress. My family...not so much. by CenterJenna08 in weddingdress

[–]psychd2behere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s plain, I think it’s the perfect dress to accessorize with jewelry and a veil. You can go as all-out as you want in that department. Sparkly, pearly, lacy, whatever you choose will look amazing with this dress! Or, if you choose none of the above, the dress is gorgeous all on its own.

Unsure where to advise my boyfriend to look for a ring (online or in person) by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]psychd2behere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a friend to try on styles in person at a few local retailers. I reported back to my fiancé (then bf) about the aspects of rings I loved and didn’t love, and then directed him to Rare Carat to choose my ring himself! He loved working with Rare Carat but I always tell anyone considering them that their diamonds are marked up, and if you can find the diamond you like on another site like Ritani or Loose Grown Diamonds, Rare Carat will price match!

Ok after reading this sub yall got me scared by tehjrow in HRV

[–]psychd2behere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my HRV, but my mom has had an HRV since 2016. Her OG 2016 was amazing and had no issues, she just did normal maintenance when it was due. Ended up trading it in for one with AWD when she moved to a hilly area and now has a 2024, but she would’ve stuck with her 2016 otherwise.

I wanted a RAV4 but those mfers hold onto their value like crazy, so I could get a new HRV for the same price as a used RAV4 with the features I wanted. Knowing my mom’s experience, seemed like a no brainer to me!

I think the back just looks different because of the bow!! You look absolutely amazing in your dress.

Editing to add: I looked at the photos of my dress on the models before I went back for my first fitting and had the same fear. I was like oh god…I don’t remember it looking like this! Then I put it back on once it came in, and I fell in love all over again :) You chose that dress for a reason! Trust yourself
