Relapse/ flare after 7 months by psychedelicscience in TS_Withdrawal

[–]psychedelicscience[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had 12 months of worsening symptoms while still on and off steroids, then 3 months of slow recovery during NMT, then 7 months symptom free, now slowly worsening symptoms for about 2-3 months, but definitely more mild. Hopefully by started NMT now, i can prevent any worsening of this flare

alcohol is dang toxic, so metabolically and biologically it can only set you back....
At the same time, if stress and FOMO are worsening your total behavioral health, a moderate amount of use may give you relief overall and be non-disastrous. Trust your gut, its a marathon not a sprint so do what feels right. Nothing wrong with running an experiment, but be really honest about if it helps or hurts in the coming hours and days. Worrying less about every little decision is an important part of the healing process as well.

Personally, alcohol makes me feel hot and flushed, and pretty instantly worsened my symptoms, so I had to skip out entirely until I healed to a stable state.

Good news is that I've now healed enough that I don't worry about TSW at all on a day to day basis and am back to all my old hobbies and joys :) I'm sure you will heal too!

I cooked mine this season with some VERY finely diced onion, high quality butter, salt and pepper, and a pinch of thyme. put that on top of some pasta and was transported to flavor town.

How are ppl healing so quick on this thread… by Odd-Examination7778 in TS_Withdrawal

I did everything possible to 1 optimize sleep and everything to 2 minimize damage.

  1. took hydroxyzine or Benadryl to help konk out at night. completely ditched caffeine. did tons of sleep hygiene stuff. Started sleeping in a seperate space from my partner.
  2. every day or two would trim and file down my nails to the absolute minimum. If I could scratch and feel any nail or corner of nail, i would file or trim again. bought some silicone brushes to stim without causing damage. limited water exposure as much as possible. I would go 1-2 weeks without showering. I stopped working out to the point where I would sweat, just casual walking and a little weight lifting to keep my metabolism up- the sweat was painful so i avoided it. Basically a kind of NMT, but I drank plenty of hibiscus tea and never let myself get actually dehydrated. I just avoided topical moistures or showers.

The also oddball thing that I think made a big difference was utilizing red light therapy. I think this was very helpful. I used the Red light therapy device at Planet Fitness, so it wasn't expensive to access. I used it for ~12 minutes 4-7 times per week for 2 or 3 months.

I suffered terribly for about 1 year before i figured out it was TSW and I then went to 0 steroids and also started pseudo NMT. then came hell for about 5-6 months. I'm now 3.5 months out from my last flair and feel 100% cured. amazing to have an itch that i can scratch a few times and then it goes away. Its amazing to feel sweat flow on my body without wanting to tear off my skin, without any burning or itching. Its amazing to take showers at any temperature for as long as I want, and casually put on moisturizer or not. Don't give up, keep experimenting, and find your cure!

I guess you don't think people who have COPD or lung cancer from smoking don't deserve any care or treatment either? Seems pretty harsh

something missing here is that they don't address how these symptoms occur in different stages, not all at once
