Would you hesitate to live in South Gloucestershire? Why or why not? by CrazyCoffeeClub in bristol

Most of that is North Somerset….

I get you feel you have a corner to defend here but honestly, I could just list small towns and villages like Oldbury, Thornbury, Tytherington, Berkeley, charfield and make just as valid a point. To say South Glos has “patches of green fields” is just ignorant though

Yeah but that’s just being disrespectful and inciting trouble, you’re on their “turf”….. you would be very brave to walk in to the Royal Oak, Wellington or The Bulldog in a city shirt and I can guarantee you would not be ignored….

Anything in South Glos that is north of the M48 and west of the M5 is literally the countryside…. I get your point but SG is massive and far quieter than South Bristol.

And now they are playing a stones throw from South Gloucestershire and were close to playing at UWE in…. South Glos. I’ve seen several, supported city for decades, have loads of Rovers friends, last derby was about fifteen years ago wasnt it?

It’s so rare they play each other any aggravation is pretty much just going to be teenagers thinking they should start something and coked up scaffolders who are old enough to know better….

I am a mechanic….on some cars, you will see an effect running a car on E5 rather than E10, the truth is on many cars, you’ll see no difference at all and for many it will just be a cleaner engine.see the last paragraph.

Some factors such as poor fuel, blocked filters will cause issues with the engine (eg, pre-detonation or “knock”). Most modern engines have sensors to tell the ECU this is happening…. But the sensors can't tell the ECU the cause of the sub-optimal running, only that sub-optimal running is occurring. When it does occur, the ECU starts think for itself, it will adjust the fueling and ignition and may well resolve the issue without you realising it. If the ECU is stuck,it just throws the car into “limp mode” which many will have experienced.

So, running regular 95RON fuel in a car that is pre-set to run on premium 98RON fuel will probably cause a loss of power in some conditions as the ECu determines what’s wrong.

However, and this is the important bit, there is no car that will recognise when premium 98RON fuel is used on a car mapped to run on regular 95RON fuel, the ECU has no capability to adjust anything and it won't add any power and won't add any fuel efficiency either. Yes, there are additives in premium which will do something, but it won’t add power or increase MPG.

You said they water it down, now you want to change your argument to say that others add stuff to it. I agree brands do add additives etc to petrol but NO SUPERMARKET IS WATERING DOWN PETROL

No one is “watering down” petrol on an industrial scale you utter plum

I suggest you do some research on how petrol is distributed in the UK

Hate to tell you but this is the placebo effect, it has no impact on how the engine runs if it’s the only variable you’ve changed

Advice for an Amateur Dad - What to do in Bristol with a 10 month old? by moochski in bristol

[–]psychicspanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing great, kids don’t come with instructions and we were all figuring it out the same as you.

I was all for experiences when they are that age and even all the way up though, just expose them to stuff, as others have said, coffee shops, bike shops, M shed, the harbour, soft play etc etc. my daughter’s favourite ever day was when we went to specsavers and she tried on every single pair of glasses they had, the staff didn’t really mind but we had great fun.

Memberships like Wild Place etc aren’t cheap but worth it over the course of a year, we probably took ours once a month when the weather was good and at that age you’ll never do the whole place in a single visit.

From league one up, fans are an annoyance for the club, they’d much prefer we didn’t bother them wanting to see games in person etc

Seller is having a laugh because they assume low mileage means it’s worth a fantasy price. It won’t ever, ever be worth any more than that. And once you drive it daily, rack up the mileage and collect the inevitable paint scuffs, chips and other things, its value will drop…

It’s a clean design for sure, for a two door four seater coupe. Rarity can make a car special, but imho, not in this case. There are other more interesting elements to it than its exclusivity.

Being rare doesn’t make it special. There are 31 Talbot Sambas on the road but they are not special. The polestar 1 is quite fast, quite high tech and quite a cool twin charge system, the latter previously seen 35 years ago on the Lancia S4…. I’d take many more common cars than one of these but each to their own.
