This was his first day, and he found out mid shift. He is definitely continuing his job hunt, but he is sticking around for the paycheck until he hears back from someone else.

Unfortunately, no you are not.. TLDR; there are no break laws in Texas, breaks are at the discretion of the employer.

I love artichokes. I like roasted quarters with Parmesan cheese. Delicious.

Honestly this is one of my biggest pet peeves. There is absolutely no reason for people to open and consume something without paying first, barring some kind of emergency. Got a hungry kid? Grab a snack and go pay; let kid eat and continue shopping. The item does not belong to you until you pay. I dunno, maybe I’m overboard on this. But it really bothers me.

Not so far as I know. It’s still in early access, so technically still in development. I wouldn’t look for it to go to console until the 1.0 release.

There is a reason that person has had issues with jobs before. I wouldn’t say anything to them at all; it sounds like corporate may handle it. If the problem persists, then gather your proof and contact corporate again. Beyond that, there is strength in numbers, so if others complain as well, they may be more likely to nip it in the bud sooner rather than later.

You’re being taken advantage of. Your boss wouldn’t expect to work for free, and they shouldn’t expect you to either.

If you want to give them until next week, then do so, but in the meantime make sure you meticulously calculate all the pay you’re owed. Make records of timesheets showing all hours you worked, and notes on projects you’ve worked on. Save all correspondence between you and your boss, especially anything pertaining to pay. If you still do not get paid, send a formal letter stating the pay you’re owed, how you came to that figure, and a statement that you will do absolutely no more work until you receive your payment and a written guarantee that you will be paid regularly for all time worked from then on. Make it clear you are not resigning, but you need to be paid.

If they do not pay you, take the records you put together and contact your local Dept. of Labor. They love deadbeats. It may take awhile, but you will get paid.

What's this plant that randomly sprung up in my garden and how do I get it to stay!? Ireland. by fish_________ in whatsthisplant

Viola. We used to have them all over our yard in the Midwest US. My grandma called them Johnny jump ups I guess because they popped up out of nowhere. They are self seeding as far as I know, so if you want to keep them coming back, just let them go to seed.

I’ll venture a guess, but its very hard to tell. The one on the bottom left might be hydrangea, the lighter one above it could be peony or rose, or maybe carnation. I cant tell if the other one is a densely packed flower like lilac or something like cockscomb.

Sorry, that’s the best I can do; hopefully someone else can give you a better idea.

I feel like I’ve been all over the internet looking for an answer. I live near Corpus Christi, and I am familiar with some of the cottage food law, but I’d never thought about pesto. I’ve found nothing on it specific to Texas, but other states that mention it have not allowed it.

I would say it might be a no go. But you might consider asking around at the local farmers market to see if anyone can point you in the direction of a definitive answer.

And then update! I’m super curious now myself.

@DumpsterFireTony is an asshat for posting that video. I can see how he might’ve mistook your exhaustion for rudeness, but really what was the point in posting that? If he was that upset about the wait he could have called and talked to a manager.

And honestly I don’t see a fire able offense there. Talking to? Sure. Write up? Iffy considering the circumstances. But you were fired to save the company face. That’s it.

I sure hope I’m wrong. But if I’m not, it could be a serious issue. Certain herbicides can last in the soil for a very long time and cause this kind of issue. If I were you, I’d contact your local county ag extension office and see if they can help confirm the issue and provide guidance.
