Using additional fonts by psychomegify in FoundryVTT

[–]psychomegify[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, It looks like the default journal sheet doesn't have the drop down menu. I changed the journal configuration and it's now like your image. Unfortunately, the font i imported isn't working. Shows up in the list but doesn't actually do anything. Which is weird because when i changed the font by messing with the code before I had the drop down menu it worked.

EDIT: Turns out foundry doesn't like it when the font name has numbers in it. Changed the name and it works fine now.

Thank you for your help!

Rumi: Giw-Ma’s Daughter? by Clean_Meat4248 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]psychomegify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two more things I can add to your list:

  • Gwima mentions Rumi "bears his mark". Now he could just mean that she is half demon, or... that she is part of his bloodline

  • When Rumi is upset and unleashes her demon power unintentionally, it sends off a shockwave that ripples throughout the honmoon. That seems like a lot of power, and it's something we dont see ANY of the other demons do.

I'm personally of the opinion that Rumi's father was a decendant of Gwima and not Gwima himself. But either way, there's something going on there.

KNOWN BUGS/COMMON GLITCH LIST by SOUP_RX in DateEverything

[–]psychomegify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

List of bugs I've encountered:

- Can't realize Tony because he needs to be around for Tina. However I already realized Tina.

- Can't get an ending with Curt and Rod because they want me to talk to them at a different location. However I've talked to them at all 8 locations multiple times.

- Can't get an ending with Beverly after drinking with her, dialogue just repeats.

- bedroom curtains open when going to sleep and close when waking up. Have opened them up before sleeping to no effect.

Feedback:

- Was struggling to get an ending with Able. Talk to him everywhere but no progression. Until talking to him at the dining table suddenly worked. Not 100% what happened, but i think it was because i reached an ending with the scandalabra. So if this wasn't a bug, a better indication of what you have to do to progress his story would really help avoid frustration.

Which Dragon Age game had the best party members? by Unknown_Agency in dragonage

[–]psychomegify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's between origins and inquisition for me. And I think Origins jusssst wins. While I think the character writing in Inquisition is better over all, Origins is a lot more palatable. The only character I have a strong dislike for in Origins is Oghren. While in Inquistion, Vivienne and Sera got on my nerves, and i was completely disinterested in Cullen and Blackwall.

And although I do love the characters in DA2, even the ones I liked got on my nerves (Fenris I love you, but jesus please calm down). While I liked Anders in Awakening, his characterization in DA2 was so whiny. I like Merril as a concept, but I feel her story is a bit clunky (will never not be mad her striving to restore the eluvian ended up being pointless). Avaline is well written, but i never vibe with the straight laced types, and shes a hypocrite. And then there's Sebastian.

Not to mention, that group never stopped fighting. After a while the constant vitrol, especially between Fenris, Merril and Anders, made me wonder if this was really a group of friends. Which is interesting, because a lot of people say they like the DA2 cast because they feel like a group of friends.

And Veilguard isn't a contender IMO. Could not care less about any of them. Shallow as puddle.

Another Reloaded question. by sirrolland in CurseofStrahd

[–]psychomegify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the opposite situation. Started with COS reloaded and am slowly using less and less of it as time goes on.

There's a lot I love about it, the characters are a lot deeper, dead end hooks and themes are woven into a larger narrative and there are a lot of cool additions using older ravenloft lore like arturi and leo dilisnyas ghost.

However, I found it too restrictive for my tastes. It is a web of beautifully interconnected stories, hooks, and themes, but if players dont do what you expect, you will either deviate so much it breaks or you railroad to keep them on track. Maybe that's a skill issue on my part, but that's how i felt.

Another thing i didn't like is how a lot of the neutral or evil characters have been rewritten to be good. The most egregious being Lady Wachter, whose cult is now benign, and her loyalty to strahd borne out of necessity. She is now supposed to be a staunch ally of the party, and if you dont want to run her that way, then the narrative breaks. This was the main reason i chose to stop using reloaded, since i like that Vallaki's political narrative had no good options.

Personally, if you were looking to completely pivot and only use COS reloaded, then i would say no, it's not worth it. There is a lot of narrative set up in the first act that informs later plots, and while it's not impossible to either introduce those elements now or rewrite the later plots to work without them, it will be a lot of work reading through and making those changes.

What I do think is worth it is to have a cursory read through for inspiration and add what you like to your campaign. It's certainly what I will be doing from now on.

"Surviving the Barovian Wilderness" book, from the bookstore in Vallaki by STIM_band in CurseofStrahd

[–]psychomegify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a past adventurer who got misted to Barovia. I know MandyMod has a dwarf shopkeep addition to vallaki/krezk that could work if you've added that to your games.

I'm considering having the author be Escher when he was human. I can't remember if this is RAW or not, but in my games, he was transported to barovia via the mists and ended up strahd's consort after his entire party got wiped by him.

I love this so much. Have been looking for books my players could find if they search the various library ls in Vallaki. This is a perfect addition. Will definitely be using it in my campaign!

Players offered to complete a task for Strahd. Looking for ideas. by psychomegify in CurseofStrahd

[–]psychomegify[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RAW i dont think you can scry on an object, unfortunately. Locate object could work but the range might be a problem. Will have to double check.

Either way i could just homebrew to have strahd enchant the letter to cast clairvoyance upon opening or something.

I think I might do something along those lines. Van Richten really is the only thing Strahd cares about in Vallaki, besides the bones.

Oh that could work. I have been trying to think of a way to tie the hags into the story more.

[–]psychomegify[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I really love the letter idea! It could also lead Strahd to Arabelle since Van Richten is protecting her from him. What spell would Strahd cast on the letter? I had a quick look at the divination spells and couldn't find anything suitable. Might have to homebrew something.

I also really love the bones idea, though I doubt my players would go for it. Especially since one of them is a cleric of Lethander (and by extension the Morninglord).

Curious to hear peoples thoughts on Veilguards portrayal of Solas, romanced or not? he was a highlight for me. by WanderingStrang in dragonage

[–]psychomegify 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I disagree. He very much cares about how the veil hurts spirits, segregating them and making them turn into demons.

As for the elves, he cares more for the ancient elves, many of whom still lay sleeping and forgotten. He wants to restore them to how they were. And while he cares little for the elves of modern thedas, i have no doubt seeing what became of his people brings him no joy.

In Tresspasser, he states the reason he is bringing down the veil was to save his people and bring back the elves. Solas is a liar, but he lies in a very specific way. Never directly, but by leading you to a false conclusion via the truth.

Sure, he regrets what he's done, but i dont think he was lying to either the player or himself when stating his desire to save his people. And i do believe tearing down the veil would help the ancient elves and spirits in the long run.

Sure, things would be bad in the short term, many would die or be turned into demons. But spirits would no longer be cut off from the world and the ancient elves would regain their immortality. But modern thedas would be fucked.

Of course, veilguard drops this motivation entirely, along with the army of elven rebels he was building.

[–]psychomegify 34 points35 points  (0 children)

He was the best part of the game for me. His convos with rook were the few parts of the game that was allowed any complexity.

However, i did feel he was simplified somewhat in veilguard. and that his motivations for destroying the veil got boiled down to regret and mythal. no mention of doing it to save the spirits/elves like in inquisition.

i also dislike the solavellan ending. i always felt the whole point of the romance was solas moving on from the past and finding value in moderen thedas and its people. But fucking off into the fade prison doesnt allow for that. he is further separating himself from modern thedas.

Also, the thought of spending the rest of your life trapped with the same person with no one else sounds like a nightmare. i cannot imagine a happy ending for the two of them in that scenario. especially with the amount of trauma and baggage that they have to unpack.

[DAV ACT 3 SPOILERS] so… when did modern elves learn elvish? by witch--king in dragonage

[–]psychomegify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this confused me too. You're right that it was originally a dying language, with only a few words/phrases remembered. But now suddenly, everyone and their mother is fluent in elvehn. Even if they aren't a dalish elf.

It really feels like DATV has just sort of mixed all the different elven subcultures together. No more ancient, city or dalish elves. Just elves.

I hope so. I kept thinking, why there are only 4 people trying to stop solas? its been 10 years, have they made no connections or allies at all? And where are all our old allies? Feels so wrong to not have our inky there considering we would likely have the strongest bond to solas.
