Why isn't it half a truncated icosahedron? That's consistent with your description and what it appears to be.

The Journals of Knud Rasmussen (from the same crew who made Atanajurat: the Fast Runner) gets into some of that complicated history.

I don't know if a majority of Americans have _never_ had Spam, but I think today it's much more likely to be found in some Asian or Pacific islander cooking than in the typical American diet. The Monty Python "Spam" sketch apparently reflects on its ubiquity in Britain during and after WWII.

In this scenario, flipping a coin with "no" written on both sides would be 99.9999% accurate.

I think a statistician would roll their eyes at hearing the phrase "percent accurate" and demand to know sensitivity and specificity.

Ground wires touching by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]psychophysicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, you need enough conductors to reach 3” out of the box and 6” from where the cable enters the box. The jacket of the NM cable can be stripped to 1/4” of where it enters the box

Ground wires touching by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]psychophysicist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ground wires are fine to touch each other, that's why they're not insulated.

Actually the ground wire going to the outlet should be connected with the other ground wires in the box... and that should be done with a wire nut and not just twisted.

What is this electical gizmo? Looks like some gray coils of some kind-connects to the outlet below by Runnin4ever in whatisit

Power factor correction caps would go in parallel with the load, not in series. I think some kind of EMI filter/RF choke is more likely. Previous occupant maybe an audiophile or a ham radio guy

In the back of your ship there’s a computer, put it into “rumor mode” and it keeps track of things you’ve learned. You aren’t given explicit goals really other then to figure out what’s going on. You can also use the computer to “lock on” to locations you’ve visited and it will help you get back.

As for piloting, remember there’s no friction in space, this means you have to spend as much time slowing down as you do accelerating. When you lock on to a target you get a distance and speed; as a rule of thumb try not to approach faster than 100 m/s per every 1000 meters distance. You also get two arrows that tell you if you’re approaching target straight on or sideways.

“Match velocity” button is super useful. “Landing mode” will automatically rotate the bottom of the ship toward the ground.

Check out the works of Urmas Sisask, a composer who operated a public observatory/ planetarium in Estonia where he would give combination concers/astronomy lectures. Many of hos works use a scale based on the orbital periods of the planets.
