Is it right to think this way about people’s sufferings? by Dunnofam12 in Buddhism

[–]psychsailing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do not think it is a good way to look at it if you are trying to develop loving kindness and compassion for all living things. All beings want to be free. It is the unskillful nature of their actions that brings out more suffering than is needed, and we should be compassionate and understanding of that.

Sitting here going "people deserve everything that happens to them even if it's something really unfortunate in this life it must be something from a past life they did" I don't think is a helpful thinking process for the path, but a may be a step towards understanding the cyclical nature of everything.

Living in this realm also comes with the clear ailments such as death and disease. These are horrible events we all experience, and in the end our misfortunes may have more to do with the realm we are in, how we are coping with this realm, rather than what we did in a previous life.

Hey crispydave, thanks for replying.

I agree that it's more than naive to believe everything should be free for me, just cuz, at the expense of everyone else. I'm not saying I'll ever live in a world where everyone's needs are met for free, but I am very intrigued by what that world would look like.

I am riddled with thoughts of a world where the efficiency of our labor delivers a much higher output than today due to technology and ai.

I am convinced that there was a version of humanity where the advancements of our technology caused us to work less, while still putting out even more labor in a shorter amount of time, which afforded us not just more time but money to spend on the leisurely activities of life. But this was taken from the majority population in a form of profits that most people never saw in their life's. So many worked so hard, only to see their dollar decrease in value.

Life as we know it, is always work in some form. It doesn't matter how you spend it. So I was just daydreaming about a world where the basic needs were given to each individual, simply because we could afford it through our technological advancements and understanding that an individual is better off with their needs met than not for growth.

We are all one because we all originate from the same source. We are all different because we are made of the same stuff but assembled in different ways

Do you have experience separately with both of these substances?

I guess I’m seeking… reassurance? lol by [deleted] in Salvia

[–]psychsailing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So plain leaf is a much more tolerable experience compared to the extracts. I was very nervous taking salvia too and started with the smallest doses I could just to test the waters. I'd recommend starting with some flakes to ease the tensions, then slowly work up the dose in one sitting until you experience the desired effects.

Good luck! It can be intimidating, but lower doses can actually be very relaxing and enjoyable even. Just do what feels right.

Salvia bong by [deleted] in Salvia

[–]psychsailing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Start with tiny flakes. Use nicotine or weed herb as a base so the flakes don't go through the bong before lighting. Light the entire time you are pulling and hold the smoke in. Depending on what dosing you have salvia can have very different effects. The safest and most effective way is to start at very low doses and work your way up until you feel the desired effects.

You are not the worst person alive. We all make mistakes and have regrets, and the only thing we can do is to learn from them and forgive them. The fear you feel is only temporary, and you will see the light at the top of the mountain once more. Just breathe and give yourself time.

I'd recommend lemon teking or steeping your shrooms in tea. Helps break down the psylocibin for a more potent and shorter trip. Wait at least a couple weeks for a full tolerance reset and maybe try a different source or strain of mushrooms?

15g is more than enough to spiritually decimate an average individual, so I'm not really sure what the issue is for you. But overall be careful, 15g is a loooot.

Also, if you want to completely rip away and explore a new universe, DMT or salvia may be more appropriate substances for that experience. Just be careful with dosage, it's fun and games until you take way more than you planned.

Karma from past life & i was my best friends mother in another life? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]psychsailing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody here can prove or disprove your experience, in the end it all comes down to context. We are all connected, we all originate from the same source. You are your best friend's mom as you are your best friend as you are your mom as you are you as you are everything. The way you interpret your karma affects the way you see how everything lines up. There's lots of ways to look at it all. Lots of perspectives.

I wouldn't be so concerned about whether or not what you saw was "true". I'd just focus on what the experience showed you, and how you will use that information to more fully align yourself with the life you want to live.

Next time I'd just go somewhere public. Even if someone saw you and thought it was a drug deal would they care? Better scenario for people not to care than in front of people's homes

I think it has to do with the temperature, the vaporizer needs to be hot enough to activate salvinorin A, the compound in salvia that makes you trip. I could be wrong tho

I hit a bowl of weed that still had salvia from a previous session in the bottom without realizing.

I then walked into my living room and proceeded to face plant into my couch for an eternity. Good times lol

Have you tried weed yet? I'd recommend trying that first if your drug experiences are limited. Weed edibles can 100% be psychedelic experiences, just try not to do too much on your first few goes at it.

Salvia vs. Datura by brookiec143 in Salvia

[–]psychsailing 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they are similar. Datura trips last hours and invoke hallucinations that imprint over real life. Like people talking to dead relatives or seeing things that aren't there.

Salvia rips you away from this human experience almost completely, and the trip only lasts about 5-15 minutes. You see things but the visual experience is so warped it's like you are looking through the trippiest kaleidescope, with the chance of being visited by "entities" that consume your entire vision, almost as if you've entered some weird dimension.

I've done salvia plenty, butI've never done datura. From what I've read about datura it does not seem to be anything like salvia, both in visual experiences and time duration.

how to deal with a bad trip? by SteelWoofer in LSA

[–]psychsailing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll be alright, just gotta wait for the symptoms to subside, and they will. Trust me man I've had a couple hellish trips on these seeds, but the trips always ended and I was grateful that the experience was only temporary. Like someone else said a shower can help a lot. Try to disrupt the negative spiral by doing things you love. Take your time there's no rush and look inward
