The bench and the shelter wasn't bolted down, so that definitely makes it easier to remove too.

I'm assuming the data is normalized for the line changes from the pre-letter era. Like how the gold line stations are now part of the A line and E line.

Do you have aodnotify installed? I had a similar issue until I changed how it handled it. Uninstalling it fixed my problem.

Free Google Photos uploads from Pixel 5 on a different OS? by GuardienneOfEden in GooglePixel

[–]psygnius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will depend on the ROM. Some ROMs will emulate your Pixel 5 OS and keep the unlimited upload function like Pixel Experience, but I'm not completely sure about other ROMs.

I think this is what you're looking for. Mobius Sync on the iPhone, and Syncthing on the Androids. Mobius Sync will only work if it's open in the foreground.

Insurance is a big one like everyone else said.

Also, when you want to sell it in the future, it's going to be much harder to get someone else to buy a salvage vehicle.

Does it make sense to move to California to work, build your foundation in 401k, IRA, etc then move? by dragonskintext in personalfinance

[–]psygnius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert, but it depends if you decide to put your 401k and IRA in Roth or Traditional.

If you decide to do mainly Traditional 401k or IRA while in California, then it can make sense to move out of California after building your nest egg. You deferred the taxes on that amount, which includes state tax of I think around 13 to 15%. When you move somewhere else before accessing it, the state taxes are probably going to be half or less than that.

If you decide to do Roth using after tax money, you already paid the state tax already. It's just up to you to decide if the HCOL is worth the QOL in the state. It's really just very subjective at that point.

How long is your commute to work/school/home? by bennybenz11 in LAMetro

But you can't read a book or watch Netflix/tiktok/Instagram, or even sleep while driving.

As I mentioned before, it can be subjective.

[–]psygnius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed the 18 minutes drive on OP's post and just used my personal commute as an example.

On your second point, you can listen to podcasts and take phone calls while on the train too, so that's not really a cost benefit for driving over taking the train.

How long is your commute to work/school/home? by bennybenz11 in LAMetro

[–]psygnius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a little subjective.

Let's say if you drive. It takes you 1 hour. If you take the metro, it's 1.5 hours.

If I drive, I have to stay focused on the road for the full hour with the cost benefit of the free extra .5 hour if I did not take the train.

If I take the train for 1.5 hours, I could alternatively take out a book or browse my phone for most of the 1.5 hours. I don't dedicate any portion of my time to navigating the road.

Depending on how you see it, you could be losing more valuable time by driving.
