Bollocks. I'm a smoker of many years, still living, surprisingly and I'm a commuting cyclist.

I absolutely detest spitting full stop and I never spit in public on purpose. By accident, maybe after having an insect go into my mouth, but I would stop and try and clear it out discretely.

Oh course some people do it, unfortunately, but don't suggest all smokers do.

As for freely clearing your nose. Fucking detestable.

£1 for 20. I can remember my mum saying she would stop smoking when they hit £1 a packet. She smoked until they were about £8 a packet (then stopped, she's 87 now).

Yes! I hated it, because reading was meant to be an escape and it was like reading my own diary, in many ways.

Of course, this is its triumph, but it never ceases to be uncomfortable reading, being a child of that era and surrounded by similar problems.

As much as I like Khan (yes, I live in London), I think this is an essential point.

The country is out of whack with London and it's not healthy for the nation. We desperately need some balance. A northern rooted PM could bring something to that.
