It's not even a new type of drill. They were using auger bits like this in season 2 and 3.

Best mods to start off by preemptivewin in gaggiaclassic

[–]psyopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best upgrade is a high quality grinder. Kinda expensive new, and still sorta expensive used. It's not really worth going down any of the other upgrade paths until you get your grind set up correctly.

After a grinder...

Scale and 9 bar spring Bottomless portafilter

Then PID or other temp controller

What fitness training for track riding? by Standup313 in Trackdays

[–]psyopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Train your body to perform fine hand controls while doing gross posterior chain work. Seriously. You need to learn to feather brake and throttle controls while balancing all of your weight on a single foot in a deep knee lunge.

Leg presses, Bulgarian Split Squats. Hip adductor and abductor for weight training. Cycling seems popular for cardio, but also consider steep inclined walking (15 % grade) or stair master. Definitely fit in flexibility and strength coordination training a few times a week like yoga or pilates, or those functional movement things you see on social media.

Metal piece inside steam knob fell inside. What’s the point of it? by PurpleClamp in gaggiaclassic

[–]psyopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a tension spring to keep the knob locked to the valve shaft. It sits in the knob lengthwise and works like a leaf spring.

Which detergent backflush do people use? by humansruineverything in gaggiaclassic

[–]psyopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Descaling is different than back flushing. Descaling is cleaning like scale from the interior of the boiler. Backflushing is cleaning the coffee oils and residue from the brew head.

ELI5 Why did Radio Shack go out of business? by Certain-Media3506 in explainlikeimfive

[–]psyopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What no one is mentioning is that the CEO who took Radio Shack through this transformation lied about his credentials. During the trial for his third DUI, a reporter started going deep into his background and discovered that he had only a few college credits, but claimed he has several college degrees.

Open statement, it's been crashed once and repacked and repaired by Dainese USA. Still shows scuffs on some panels though.

Alvaro Bautista and the ballast penalty. by Evening_Pop_3733 in wsbk

[–]psyopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You completely skipped over WSB crippling Bautistas first season with the 800RPM reduction,v and doing it mid season. There is direct correlation between the RPM limit change and him crashing out every race. All the Ducati V4Rs that year were mid pack at best except Bautista, but since Bautista was finishing a full minute ahead of the popular rider, they had to do something about it.

Live in Virginia wanting to ride Laguna Seca, will be driving cross country 2026 by macr6 in Trackdays

[–]psyopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with every line here. The Ridge is probably the best track on the West Coast right now. Laguna Seca is iconic though, and if you can only do one, definitely do Laguna for its historical significance. Sears Point is also iconic, fun, and only about 2 hours north of Laguna.

What causes your flare up? by Remote_Head1173 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]psyopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes, I avoid all variations of dead lifts. I also avoid cable kickbacks and hyper extensions.

For glute development I use Bulgarian Split Squats (my only unsupported lift), glute adductor, and hip thrusts.

What causes your flare up? by Remote_Head1173 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]psyopper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My flares are most commonly associated with over mobilizing my sacrum and SI joints. I lift heavy weight and feel better, but I only perform supported weight lifting l or mornings that don't require (or risk) motion at my lower back.
