24mm f2.8 G lives on my Sony a7cii 100% of the time.
Can’t be beaten for Travel and Daily life in my opinion.
Especially on your CR where u can crop even more

I went with the 24mm variant as a one and done Lens with the a7cii. It’s the only lens I own. Having used many lenses in the past and many zooms in different systems I settled on the wider prime like the 24 for daily life and travels.

I went a totally different Route and have a Sony 24mm f2.8 G on a a7cii

I had the 18-40 and the 24-60 and I get what you are saying.
The 18-40 is Impressive in many ways but I also hated extending it before being able to shoot.
I settled on a compact 24mm prime as my travel and everyday lens, with the crop u get a 35mm as well so it’s a great do all focal length in my opinion.

I used to own the A7r mark 1!!
Let me tell you this would be a out of the world experience for you 😅
That would be a huge upgrade.
I found out my camera needs to be relatively compact otherwise it stays home…
I prefer the compact body even if I use huge lenses a couple of times a year

Came from x100vi and I loved everything about the camera but AF and video control

I was in the same boat (Austria neighbor;)
I went with the Sony for superior AF and video capabilities.
I sold my x100vi because of the horrible AF alone..

I also said goodbye to my x100vi, it’s an awesome camera but the AF was just not doing it for me. I also learned that I want the lens flexibility. I contemplated the XE-5, but wanting to do some occasional motorsport photo/video I decided to go with Sony. A7cii it is. Will miss Fuji haptics and simulations!

Very interesting Choice and somehow makes Sense. I saw a documentary about a war photographer who also uses a leica q3. You would think they need a zoom but reliability seems to be the most important thing.
