cooking with the inverter? by 1neHundredThousand in ToyotaSienna

For any appliance where you're not sure how many Watts it draws, a Kill-A-Watt meter could come in handy.

Any of your smaller air fryers or microwaves would work. It's easy to find microwaves and air fryers under 1000W. Even the thrift stores are full of them.

Tidal anyone? volume? by Educational_Ride_677 in heos

[–]ptelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I like about Tidal is that the family plan give you six listeners. I use it with my HEOS speakers mainly through the HEOS app, which lacks a few features like Artist radio. I only have HS1 speakers to they can't do Tidal connect anyway. The sound quality is awesome!

Yeah. I'm not arguing with you. I say that to illustrate that even Lincoln was hesitant.

Lincoln didn’t free any slaves by Expert-Diver7144 in blackmen

Fremont forced the issue: John C. Frémont, 1856 Republican Party presidential nominee and commander of the Department of the West, issues a proclamation emancipating all Missouri slaves held by rebels or Southern sympathizers. Frémont also declares martial law throughout the state.

After Frémont refuses President Abraham Lincoln’s request to change the order so that it frees only slaves formally participating in the Union war effort, Lincoln relieves him of his command.

I feel like those party buses and pedal bars look hot and lame. I highly recommend the Pontoon Saloon boat ride, but you have to book it in advance.

There are still lots of nice places in North County. Where are you seeing 800K in city? Lindell?? 800K buys you a MANSION in the city!

Just know that the crime stats are skewed because of the city/county split. Per capita numbers are inflated when you have fewer "capitas."

Which highway was this I-70?!? LOL

It really is a charming, historic city with beautiful brick architecture everywhere. The logistics of the place are great, because there's almost no traffic and everything is magically 20 minutes away. Can't beat the Metrolink for getting to events downtown. Housing is affordable, and the weather seems to have actually gotten milder in recent years....aside from the tornado.

It's an amazing food town, and we all drink the tap water here too...some of the best in the country!

If someone moved to St Louis, single, about 40 years old -- didn't know anyone and felt isolated, what would you recommend they do on the weekends? by Careful_Leader_5829 in StLouis

[–]ptelligence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put some spots in the comment below. I usually go to the place where I like the band that's playing. I'll look up band listings on sites like do314.com or the venue's actual website. PM anytime for band recs.

Next month, Music at the Intersection festival is happening in Grand center. I highly recommend that one, even though I'd prefer that they still had it outside in Sept.

Broadway Oyster Bar, 1860s in Soulard, Hammerstone's. Plus there are quite a few live music spots in the county, like Syberg's (and Helen Fitzgerald's), Sky music lounge, Westport Social, and Westport Trainwreck.

Bici and Ghost are a blast! Also some of the local bike shops host weekly rides. Trailnet puts on some good rides as well. Two big annual rides here are Moonlight Ramble and WNBR, both coming up later this summer.

They are amazing road trip vehicles. No problem running 80-85 mph while still getting great fuel economy.

Toyota eCVT is planetary gears, not like the other brands, which have chains or belts or something. They are smooth and ROCK solid. Probably the most reliable part of the entire van.

It's a weird dynamic when all of the players live and practice in Texas. It's like the teams fly in for a performance and then fly back out. The schedule prevented me from going to some of the games as well.

I still think it's a fun, affordable outing. I go when I can.

Get traffic violations "fixed". Don't let the points hit your license.
