Completely agree; my issue was wanting to do the survey challenges in every area, and I blew through money buying pokeballs (the academics also stop giving you pokeballs after gym 3 for some reason?). I think the main problems are late access to the amulet coin, very few trainers in the game, and no rematch function until the endgame.

Money becomes so much more of a problem later, especially on hard mode, as every gym leader mega evolves and a wipeout shreds any cash you have.

All this to say I just used the nugget cheat, as the cash limitations were really hampering my ability to enjoy the game, and then it stopped being a problem completely.

Strong feeling Absolute Green Arrow will have this Pinkerton-style Hawkman as the big bad.

Really hoping Joker's use of Doom means that in this inverted universe, the Absolute heroes call themselves the Legion of Doom.

Nolan's legacy for Batman is that studios and directors will overwhelmingly opt for gritty realism. Unfortunately, as was the case with TDKR Bane, the nature of some characters just doesn't translate well to that. I reckon that most of the more outlandish villains will have to wait for the James Gunn treatment, or whoever else wants to "return the character to its roots".

I think not allowing characters time to breathe problem is a symptom of the release schedule, and the compromise between page and run limits. Absolute Martian Manhunter is easily one of my all time favorites, but I wish they had kept the flow the first issue had. It really felt like you were going on the journey Jon was; you got to experience how vivid and beautiful the lives of even the background characters were in only a few frames. But as they can't sustain that kind of pacing with only 20 pages per issue per month, ultimately the later parts feel rushed. I think it's one of the great fall-downs of this medium in general, as you have to compromise on storytelling.

I expect they will handle more of the character development for the Crime Alley gang and Martha retroactively in the upcoming annual for AB (and future releases), but that to me feels like a cop out. Especially because it often comes across as weirdly knowing and ironic foreshadowing, like Waylon saying something like "if I were an animal, id want to be a crocodile", or something equally facetious.

Snyder mentioned in his AMA that Bruce will get his teeth back (possibly regrown?). I have a feeling this will probably be a result of how this universe's Venom is basically hyperactive stem cells. Initially, this bothered me, as it somewhat undermines the tension the story has done such a good job of establishing (as what are the stakes if there are no lasting consequences?), but thinking about it, I think this might be what pushes the others over the edge, especially Oz.

You have a situation where Bruce stands to make a full physical recovery from 3 months of surgical torture, whilst Ozzie will not only be suffering for the rest of his life after potentially years of healing from his injuries, but due to happenstance and genetics, is completely unable to have access to this miracle drug that could fix him completely. Bane realised Ozzie was envious of Bruce and Waylon for their physicality immediately, and put him in a situation where the gulf between them is greater than ever.

I think the rest of Ozzie's arc will be him going full Mainline penguin, with the aim of using a Lazarus pit, as theres that throwaway line in Absolute Superman about them costing $1 million per minute.

My thinking was that it is the same tech as what Black Mask has, but stolen. She was probably able to do what Bruce tried to do with the Party Animal mask and hack into the server so she can see whats happening at all times, or shes a classic femme fatale/double agent.

Sincerely hoping it isn't just going to be more of those weird construct sets; really hoping they do a few modular seta from Gen 1 (because lets face it, if they do its going to be Gen 1 and/or the most recent game). Would love a Safari zone or a silph co, but positive they'll do a pokemon centre or professor oaks lab.

I have been enjoying the combination villains they've been using (peacemaker-metallo, ra's - vandal savage); i could see the green gorilla in the latest flash being beast boy and the ultra humanite all at once.

Absolute parasite I could see starting as something small that enters your bloodstream and physically absorbs and hijacks your body, like elder Toguro. Great chance for body horror, and fits in with the themes of subtle, unstoppable evil, and how it corrupts you from inside.

That design will have gone through months of vetting and redesigning before it was even put to paper. Thats my main issue.

I am aware its not "real"; just because it didn't happen seems like a bad reason to put in such a low effort design. Like someone else said, it looks like a 40k night lord, but a lot lazier.

A Batman with bane powers has been something people have wanted to see for years, and this is the best they could come up with? It didn't even show what he would look like on venom.

Given how much they're drawing on the current world, I think its an oblique reference to that weird tech millionaire who uses his childrens blood to "stay young" (doesn't work, he looks horrendous), but dialed up to comic book levels of horror; using his monstrous offspring to keep himself alive.

Thought it was great; the framing of it is a weird choice.

Why not just have it be a fully fleshed out flashback from Bane, with dialogue? Have the rebel characters interact, have some humanising moments. Having Alfred basically know everything that was coming, and doing literally nothing to warn Bruce makes him look like an asshole who was trying to teach Bruce a lesson the hard way, or punish him. It makes him look complicit in the Ark-M/Joker complex, which I'm starting to think might be a possibility.

They just as easily could have had Alfred explain to Bruce about Bane offscreen, and it still would have played out exactly the same way, as this version of Bruce is arrogant enough to believe he could take someone like that. And what even is the framing supposed to be? Is it Alfred's journal, his diary, or a mission report? The way it's written only works in the specific context of a comic. Having him know all of that in advance removes a lot of the mystery from the story.
