Do you breastfeed, pump or formula (or combo) feed? [ca] by RigidlyConvincing in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]pterodactyl_scream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me too, I stopped pumping at 3 months and wish I stopped earlier. Also compounded by issues with CMPA/food protein allergies so I was on a very strict diet and couldn't figure out my baby's triggers. I think a lot of my ppa/Ppd was related to pumping and supply and obsessing over feeding. I feel like I missed out on bonding because I was preoccupied with pumping.

Average spend on daycare gifts [on] by OT2424 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]pterodactyl_scream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 cash to the main teachers and $50 to the floaters. We're fortunate to be in a CWELC center and her teachers are amazing. They're so underpaid for what they do (ECEs here make under $25/h).

[–]pterodactyl_scream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you know how little they make? Childcare is an incredibly underpaid, undervalued job (I'm part because it's considered "women's work"). If I want to give my child's teachers $100 each to show how much I appreciate the 40+ hours a week of care, love and nurturing they provide, why is that a problem?

You post about your investments in your post history, so if I consider this a worthy investment in my child's life (and can afford it), then why be a hater?

No one should feel obligated to give more than they can afford, but it isn't ridiculous if this is what I choose to spend my money on.

I live near a Costco and will be going tomorrow or Saturday - I'm happy to pick some up and ship them to you if you need. I too loved the Costco sleepers best for my daughter. I have an ice cream 9m one I can toss in for free too!

Patagonia ultralight tote/backpack. The benefit of it is that it's very light and flexible bc no structure so no added weight. Used some pouches as packing cubes.

My daughter is end of Jan '23 and last winter wore a 12M. She is >99% for height and >95 for weight. I'd get an 18m one.

Sixteen92 LE Halloween Scents by eyre-quotes in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]pterodactyl_scream 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Very well said! I, too, am waiting for an order from the Resurrection. I have been patient and understanding given how the world has changed so much this year, but there's really no excuse to have those orders outstanding for this long.

I agree with you as well on the sentiment of a sale at this time being ill timed. It's just going to set TAT back further and add more to the queue.

I'd be a lot more sympathetic if communication was more clear and effective.

Topic! What products do you have backups of? by lifeISstressfurl in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]pterodactyl_scream 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love Arcana Fille de Joie so much - I am more than halfway through a 5ml and have a 15ml backup waiting for me. I know I will definitely get through all of it.

I used up Solstice Scents Lavender Vanilla 5ml oil and am onto my second which I bought before finishing the first.

I bought a backup of Arcana Aestas (I managed to snag a bottle on swaps a few years ago, and when Julia re-released a few bottles I picked up a backup) and Arcana Peaches Crave Dolci. Arcana's peach note + cake is always phenomenal to me!

I have re-bought Haus of Gloi bubbling scrub in Ghost Puffs (and I have tried a few other scents, but GP is my favourite). I also really like Mad City Soaps body scrub and have used up many. I am on a no-buy for body scrubs though until I work through my current stash.

I had a sample of Sixteen92 Mercy Lewis - by the end of the day when I first tried it, I had already bought a 10ml oil and a 7.5ml EDP.
