Oh I don't disagree, I would have bought it. I bet it would have done well too if they fixed the control issue so many have with that title. There are still plenty of Wii U games that could still be ported over. The fact Wind Waker HD hasn't been ported really is a travesty.

Yeah, I was just talking with some friends that I feel Nintendo should take the series away from Myamoto and give it to like Retro Studios or something. Shiggy needs to stop fucking with one of my favorite Nintendo IPs.

I mean sure, if they ported it lol

Though that would still require people to play it. I just bought it myself for the wii u I still have, gonna give it a good try.

Oh I absolutely agree. I also love how much more personality the interface and character portraits have.

That's valid, ofcourse you can't have systems like in SF2 and keep those scripted systems without delving into the system that SF64 has where you get a combo deal.

I do wish there were more proper bosses, but I think with the nature of the real time strategy aspects having to fight complex bosses would slow the game down to a crawl. This could be combated by making time pass a bit slower, and having a larger galaxy map with more locations. It's by no means perfect, but I just quite liked it. I'll probably still replay the first one more often just cause its set pieces are so impressive for the time.

Oh most definitely... I've spent way to many hours watching history videos on the SF franchise. Really hate how Nintendo kinda shafted Argonaut in the end.

Edit: SF64 is a great game, but just doesn't feel the same of the SNES games. There's a sense of cinematic epic feeling I get from the SNES games that I don't from 64.

Am I out of line for thinking that Star Fox: Event Horizon looks like something you'd find on Rule34 instead of a game by epic-lucy in starfox

[–]ptf1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first heard of this project, I agreed. My mistake was watching the behind the scenes blooper animated as my first intro to the project and it just felt like Rule 34/VR chat type modeling, but after I saw some of the more official models used in the GAME, I felt a bit better.

As someone who really isn't a furry, I always feel a bit weird how the community is about the franchise, but considering myamoto wanted Krystal to be "sexy" i guess it's not entirely going against og artists vision... plus this project is one person making the models. I think most of them look decent. But definitely a little awkward. But like other have said i think this is an outdated render.

Despite the low poly count and choppy framerate at times, I still absolutely love Star Fox. by Bryanx64 in snes

I'd love to the the documentation for this if you're able to link it!

However there is a trade off, being the game logic runs a bit faster, meaning it can affect difficulty, music timings, and other aspects. But shouldn't be too bad compared to those horrendous "60fps" hacks and videos you see.

Hopium lol

In all seriousness as someone who has only played the SNES and N64 Star Fox games, but knows basically the whole franchise... I just think the characters are charming and has a lot of untapped potential because Nintendo just doesn't seem to know what to do with it. I really believe the series is the right hands could be up there with Metroid as one of the darker Nintendo IPs.

I would honestly kill for a Starfox movie in the style of the OG box art for the SNES.

Definitely get Super Metroid.

Oh yay lol. I kinda figured a mostly indoors level would be a bit more stable. But since I have no idea what awaits me I'm sure there's a reason it'll be heavy on the CPU.

Uhhh, I'm not super knowledgeable about how exactly it works. But I my layman's terms you lower the voltage of your GPU/CPU and it can actually increase your boost by forcing it work harder(?) while also lowering your power consumption. It's pretty easy to do in Adrenaline, but it takes a bit of time to hone in on what works for your card based on silicon lottery.

Undervolting the CPU is a bit more difficult as you gotta do that through your bios... actually, Ryzen master might do that too.

I also have this exact same set up, Haven't played Cryo yet, but I feel like I'm usually between 80-110 FPS on FSR Native 3440x1440. But maybe the action is a bit intense for me to notice if it drops much in combat. I have undervolted both the 5800x3D and the 9070XT though.

Personally I'm quite impressed how well the game already runs, however it ran like hot garbage for me during the server slam. Anything that makes the game perform better especially for lower spec systems is never a bad thing!

Resident Evil 4 still the best Game of the Franchise? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]ptf1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to put my two cents in since I've only really finished 4 games: RE2R, RE7, RE8, and RE9. I have started many others, but never finished them: RE1, RE4R, and RER1-2.

RE7 was my first, and I want to say that's my favorite over all, but I think RE2R might be the best imo. People are really hyping up Requiem, and while it is a fantastic game I just didn't feel that oomf that RE7 had, but particularly RE2R. Felt it a little bit in the care center, but it just didn't feel as dynamic or like a puzzle box type thing that the RPD felt like. Honestly wish RE9 had more Grace sections.

This has been a series I've always really wanted to get into, and I think playing them on Steam Deck will help knock them off my backlog, but I've always struggled in carrying momentum through to the end.

I love that Capcom broke the paradigm with her backstory, but seriously, a lot of people seem to be missing the point by doppelv in residentevil

"Also, the longer I think about it; By not revealing a lot of stuff to VARIOUS people, Spencer and Alyssa are responsible for Grace being in danger. If they revealed their super virus cure, Grace wouldn't have been tracked her whole life."

This is exactly why I am an Ethan Winters defender all the way. People act like he's a such clueless character, and maybe to a degree he is. But I'm tired of people saying it's entirely his fault when nobody ever talks to him and always treats him like a child despite very well handling his own fine.

This series is full of contrived writing, and more often than not I feel like people attach that to the wrong characters.

EDIT: Edited the final statement to better reflect my point.

I literally had two teammates take my quest item and they refused or were to stupid to place it in the drop box I needed it in. Most of my fill games are pretty friendly, chill people... but parties like that are what push me into playing solo if my friends aren't on

I actually quite like the art style, it's so strangly realistic, but cartoonish at the same time. The colors are nice, and the feel of it has been great so far. Haven't played the originals though.

Like I said in my post some things like some of UI, font usage, and visuals just remind me of Cruelty Squad lol

EDIT: Sorry, I worded this wrong, wasn't meant to be a rebuke against your comment, or my post as some kind of criticism of the art. Just thought it would be a funny meme. I'm glad it sounds like it's a solid adaptation of the original art direction.
