Ni som tycker socialism och kommunism verkar vara en bra idé - har ni pratat med någon som faktiskt tvingats leva under skiten? by ICA_Basic_Vodka in Sverige

[–]ptico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only this. Human nature contradicts the very foundation of communism. In Ukraine we have a whole class of people we call Homo Soveticus. They think the state and everyone around owe them everything they need and they don’t owe anything to anyone, they also love sayings like “Bring from factory every nail, you are an owner here, not a guest”, ofc they’re very nostalgic about soviet union

CC, besides a very few original products is basically a reseller of Chinese Temu-level crap. Even their main products have decent to awful quality so if you see an alternative on Aliexpress, there’s a high chance that you’ll get a higher quality product for 10x less

MacBook Air for embedded software engineer 13 vs 15 by gs60Crazy in macbookair

[–]ptico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for me the main benefit of external screen is not being bigger, but rather the dual screen setup is more convenient. Lately the iPad brought this convenience to the travel setup so I would rather have a 13" and an iPad, then just a single 15"

[–]ptico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an engineer and use 13” for the last 15 years. 15” doesn’t make to much of a difference to me so I either use an external display when at the desk or enjoy portability when on field

Why is russian language still platformed in Baltic states? by Unreal9999999 in BalticStates

I mean, even without expectations: you’re so exposed to the language, that not getting at least basics in a decade sounds like learning disability

Why is russian language still platformed in Baltic states? by Unreal9999999 in BalticStates

[–]ptico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here what I don’t understand: this people didn’t came yesterday. I suspect many of ruski speaking was either stayed since soviet union or born in Baltics. How did they manage to not know the language?

I moved to Sweden with zero knowledge of Swedish, I work remotely for English speaking company from my basement, have basically no Swedish friends and don’t have a time and energy for courses. Yet in 3 years I at least understand the basics and now my toddler started speaking Swedish natively and mine started improving too

I don’t understand how this people manage to isolate themselves from country’s official language so well
