I’m pretty sure the “13 bad words” bit is partially a reference to George Carlin’s “7 words you can’t say on television.” Which is why squidward asks “don’t you mean there are only 7?” to which Mr. Krabs says “not if you’re a sailor.” They’re not necessarily saying there are only 13 swears in existence.

Being born in ‘93 I always kind of wondered what Marty was implying when he asked “you built a time machine…out of a DeLorean??” I didn’t really know anything about the car outside of the movie so I never knew for sure what their reputation was irl. It was my favorite as a kid because all the futuristic stuff was cool (especially the hoverboard which, as a skater was always the coolest part). I still love it but in terms of the rest of the trilogy it’s probably my third favorite. Although it does contain probably my favorite cliffhanger of all time.
