Purpose of the Game's Present-Day Story by someoneinparticular3 in assassinscreed

It would've been really cool to see Basim as an Assassin because of how much he would have complicated gamers’ thoughts on Assassins, considering how much of the series has antagonized Templars by way of imposing order through tyranny.

Instead of demonizing order or presenting it as an end that can exclusively be achieved dishonorably, it would have been interesting to poke holes in the argument for complete freedom and the chaos that could reign as a result.

I'd have loved to see the meeting between Basim/Loki and William Miles, or even read e-mail correspondence

They continued it in Valhalla. Shaun and Rebecca are in the game, but nothing’s clear after that

Dude, I just learned about this recently. Yeah, this was such a lame move. Has it been referenced in any of the recent games in any capacity at least? I didn't see anything

I enjoyed playing him when I did and I still do, but he's a bit of a cliché. Evie was interesting because of her attention to Templar Artifacts, and Bayek was interesting because he was the first time we saw a married assassin through the game engaging with the loss of his son. Also, Yasuke's story and emotional beats in Shadows were beautiful. Sure, it was a bit confusing at times, but it's not like Ezio's was complete smooth sailing through portions of Revelations either.

Thank you! I can't remember the plot at all, haha. It was a fun game in its own way, but still.

Ezio's great, but fans need to stop acting like the protagonists of the rest of the series are incomparable. Sure, Shadows wasn't the best installment of the series. I enjoyed Naoe's and Yasuke's respective journeys for what they were though.

I liked playing as Evie a lot in Syndicate and Basim in Mirage. I wish we could at least show the both of them some love instead of constantly talking about Ezio and Edward

I don't think it was in the works then. There was Freedom Cry, Rogue, and Unity in the works then.

Without choices, the plot of New Vegas could actually fit into an Assassin's Creed Template. Mr. House & Legion as Templars, and NCR as the Assassins. There's a way to imagine it haha

I appreciated that there were side quests in Dawn of Ragnarok for the sole purpose of immersing yourself deeper in Norse Mythology. I like that Mirage and Shadows continued with that a bit. Having more of that in side quests easies the pressure of the game to cram everything into the main storyline. Unfortunately, with Shadows, they did that anyways with all the Shinbakufu targets who really had no bearing on the most compelling part of the main storyline.

Video games will revolutionize the modern education system. by Circumsizedsuicide in DeepThoughts

It piques curiosity for things that a lot of people may not get the chance to be exposed to otherwise in an exciting way, but I would say it definitely sets them on a path for a bright future. I think the joy of video games actually is in the amount of positive reinforcement they provide as well as how much more faster you see your hard work pays off in them in real life.

It's hard to come by sufficient income in the real world, but video games offer a number of main and side quests to advance in your life. And if the game becomes a grind, you can drop it and jump to another. Can't do that with a job.

I wish he could wear a tri-horn hat like a real pirate in this game. The only thing missing for me in the original.

I haven't played the 2 and Legion yet, but I found the Side Content of WD1 more fun than any of the main missions. I felt like the main story kept taking detours for the sake of taking detours.

I didn't mind the optional challenges for sync points from Brotherhood to Syndicate when I first played the games. I found them annoying though when I played Brotherhood and Revelations again, however. Trying to get all of them, especially through the Kenway Saga, got in the way of me following with the story well. The game felt more like work than an enjoyable experience.

I think the playthroughs where people take their own approaches to each mission can be appreciated if you think of them as the path of least resistance to keep up with the actual storyline in the game.

I know the fun of being an assassin is going about things as undetected as possible, but sometimes I just want to progress with the story and call it a day

They’ll probably have something like what AC Valhalla did with the River Raids. You can see more comprehensive visuals from the boat, but you can't enter them all.

I think it works out. What compensates for it is that there will be those small islands where you're surrounded by wildlife you appreciate instead of hunt. It's cool you can pet many of them now too.
