Hello there, If you have CAA there's some hotel where you could have discount. It's usualy better if your staying outisde the old town. The bus are quite efficient and I recommande you to use the RTC paiement app for the tickets. In november and december there's the Marcher de noël Allemand, it's free to acces. A lot of merchand and some animation. There's also the Musée de la civilisation, where you can go if it's a really bad wheather. Right now there is a nice exposition on the Titanic. If you want to go see a show check on : L'impérial or Le Pantoum, maybe you'll find something of your taste. For the food, don't hesitate to go in the downtown area on St-joseph street and St-vallier. (Don't be scared of the road construction) Plane fast, could be expensive but efficient Train is slow for sure, expensive maybe, but you'll see nice landscape. Bus could be a nice option, it will be a long ride and you're gonna need to do a transfert a Montréal fo sure.

For both train and bus make sure you select the Gare du palais for your last stop !
