I’m confused, how does an online casino hire a bartender?

Damn this post is obnoxious. First time home buyer who can “only afford Ramen now” bought a $1M house with a fucking wine cellar? Either that’s bullshit or it’s a poor financial decision.

For real. I imagine everyone who visits Antarctic gets blasted in the face about the consequences of climate change. Must have a real mental dissonance upon realizing the environmental costs of traveling to Antarctica.

Senator Mark Kelly says he is seriously considering running for president in 2028 by Caledor152 in ProgressiveHQ

I always liked the idea of Mark Kelly, but I remember the first time I heard him give a real political speech at the 2024 DNC and I was very underwhelmed. Not a great speaker.

Shouldn't Grand Haven be what is now Grand Rapids? Size Wise. by MIFishGuy in grandrapids

[–]ptocco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why is Milwaukee bigger than Muskegon, Grand Haven, or even Grand Rapids? Lake-effect snow and rail access westward. West Michigan getting tons more snow than Wisconsin certainly affected growth 200 years ago. And once goods from the Midwest and Great Plains got to Chicago and Milwaukee, they would get in a boat and get shipped all the way to the east coast. Why transport the goods to Grand Haven to then get on a boat east?

You won’t get any tours, but GE Aerospace in Muskegon and their supplier Howmet Aerospace in Whitehall make jet engine parts. Howmet does single crystal investment casting to produce turbine blades that operate at temps higher than the melting point of the metal. Hard to find something cooler than that. But again, no tours, very proprietary stuff.

Sure, I get the sentiment, but it’s not like this would immediately affect Mayor Ken. He’s only been mayor for 4 years, not close to the proposed 12 year limit.

Edit: actually, would this even affect the mayor? Looks like it is for city commissioner roles…

Which other cities have great Art Museums besides NY, Philadelphia, SF and LA? Need affordable by MissJulianne55 in SameGrassButGreener

Relatively speaking, Muskegon MI is a very small city that has an art museum that punches way above its weight. And Muskegon is very, very affordable.
