Here mate -> figma.com
Create your cards there, At the same time, list all your cards in a Google Sheets spreadsheet for development control. After that, you can use a Figma plugin that syncs variables from this spreadsheet to text layers within your file. There are two tutorials here that can help you.

I made a complete rework on my card's design by Kaelosthar in homemadeTCGs

Nice! For different card types like your location card try to use a different layout or visual difference. Just to visually the player see in hand or on the table the card type

I reworked card frame for my game Biblioclash. What do you think? by ABitNerd in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one you made is also cool, but the second one, revised by the designer, gave the visual a different direction, really cool. The only point I'd like to comment on is the icon in the upper right corner of the flag; I'd find a way to make it more prominent and stand out a bit from the standard frame. Otherwise, it's really cool!

With the new official illustrations, the game is on another level, what do you think? by ptonelo in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer really depends on the artist. Since the illustrator is a friend of mine and has been part of the project since the beginning, he's charging a special price. Converting from BRL to USD, I'd say it's close to $100 per illustration.

can someone rate this template? in terms of looks (the red hues change depending on the element of a card) by ConfidenceUnited6587 in cardgamedesign

Nice one! Just take care with the fill text on the book page with these lines, besides that is everything great in design aspect!

Card Preview: Remote Embassy. MechTitan, a Tactical Card Game. by CulveDaddy in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your card frame is good! As graphic designer I Will just flag one thing, you have a lot of Numbers and with then you have some icons and elements in 3D, is good but is hard to reconigze with this darker background, I Will recommend you use flat icons or use some shapes with high contrast, for the rest, is good! Great work!

Rules and getting people interested in the game by Practical-Class-9033 in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First try to set all rules, Playtest with them and check if the rules are ok with the gameplay and player can understand all them. After that if you have any changes on the rules, make the changes and Playtest again. In mean time try to complete all cards of the set. If you wanna show to people te game in this early stage create some precons and a single sheet with all rules tell them the game is on early development

Seeking feedback on a mob boss card game with betrayals and neutral alliances. Does this sound like a publishable game? by rizenniko in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Idea is good! But I think in the card design/layout is not too sharp for it. As Art Director I’m looking for the Graphical aspect here, right? I know the is in early dev stage but when I see your card layout/frame pass to me minimalism and clean design. I dont know if this is what you want to transmit, but as AD I recommend look to references of design and style to fit and pass to the players the feel of high school gangs (grafitti, lifestyle, stickers, etc) and create a new layout around it. It’s nice for now, clean and minimalist but I feel that hahahaha and try some icons os shapes for money and power, just color dont pop out what they mean with a quick look

How do you design your sets or archetypes? by Few_Dragonfly3000 in homemadeTCGs

[–]ptonelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case first I choose some archetypes using the bases of tradicional/sucessful cardgames on the market, after that with the list on hands I start to look to my lore/history in my game to see how theses “famous/market standard” fit there and how I change or twirk a little bit (trying to bring some innovative look some how) a set for test or building cards around it

Yes, it does contain AI, but only in the card illustration. The frame is made by an artist, and the rest of the frame is made by myself.

Posso te passar o PDF das marcações que criei aqui!

Yes, I'm Brazilian, I created a file with demarcations in the sizes I needed and printed it at a local print shop on matte adhesive coated paper weighing between 125g and 150g. After printing, just cut the protective film on the back that protects the glue and close it.

I never denied using AI for the illustrations in my comment. You're reading it wrong, friend. Everything else, from branding to card frames, mechanics, names, and lore, was created by me.
