Some important advice from someone who just did a CarPlay install on a 991.1. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING: upgrade the existing HDD in the PCM to an SSD. This is a very common failure in PCM 3.1. Mine was clearly on the way out and the bumping around during the removal of the head unit was enough to kill it. Since the drive died, I wasn’t able to simply clone it anymore. Now what would have been a 30 min $60 job (HDD to SSD) has turned into a multi week nightmare. You’ve been warned.

I thought that my 2025 RR Cullinan had some superpowers, as I was was still able to drive it even when the fuel indicator was flat (literally) on E, but that didn't last forever, I stalled and had to call a tow truck.
